UNEXPECTED GUEST

This morning when I opened my kitchen window I noticed what seemed to be a brown and white ball of fur resting near a tree some distance away - then it moved and I realized it was some kind of animal.
I called my nephew and on closer examination what we found was a very thin little male puppy with a wounded hind leg and a cut on the ear. The poor thing looked like it hadn't eaten in days - I could see ribs through its skin. Surprisingly it seemed very happy to see us, showing appreciation when stroked with a feeble wag of its tail.
We had no idea where it came from and we knew it couldn't belong to any of our neighbors - they would never starve a puppy. My nephew fed him and took care of him and he seems quite happy.
have you ever had a stray turn up at your door and it seems to be saying "mom I'm home"?
I took the above picture of the stray puppy.

Oh yes! Our cat Pebbles was a stray and we adopted him. He's so sweet and loving. =) That pup is so adorable!

Yes, I have had some thin and exhausted hunting dogs here show up way after the season was over. I always fed them and called animal control.

That is a cute picture.I am happy this little one has found a loving home. Preiti our present pet walked in through our gate as a puppy. She is now ten and a dignified lady.

What a cute, little guy @Kandae11 . I'm so glad your nephew rescued him. It sounds like he might have been attacked by another dog. Out here I get a lot of dogs that come through my property, but I know who they belong to. Irresponsible neighbors.

Since I live a little distance out of town; people would drop off their unwanted pets on me.

@Kandae11 Not really. I usually can find somebody that wants a pet.

Good thing the puppy went to your place, I am an animal lover and I appreciate your kind response to the cute little puppy. Just take care and love him/her for he will give it back to you. God bless all the people who took care of their chosen animals. By the way, I have three lovable Tzi Shuh and we treated them as members of the family.

Cute little guy, good for you guys taking care of it. We did have a stray after neighbor abandoned their dog. Had to get rid of it because he was to small to protect himself against my mean German Shepherd at the time. Neighbor had the nerve to ask if we still had the dog like he wanted it back. We were like, nope, gave him away. He was was a cute little guy also. Used to come flying in jumping on my chest while sleeping.

What a cutie. Good that he is getting a home. How could anyone throw such a puppy out. Maybe he got lost or something.

So cute. Nice of you and your nephew to take care of him. Not strays but usually it is the neighbor's dog or cat that gets away and comes into my yard.

it is good you took care of him even momentarily. i dislike seeing dogs who are thin and emaciated. i hope their fur parents will take care of them.
