Sorry I haven't been around to interact. It's been a busy few days for us. Besides celebrating our holiday, we had a few exciting things happen.
Last evening, friends of ours escaped Hurricane Irma and headed to our home state. I invited them for dinner last night and oh, what fun we had!
Today was so beautiful that we took a long ride in our convertible with the top down, of course. We went to the ocean and surprised our son and his fiancée while they were having their underwater scuba diving lesson in their brand new gear. Tomorrow they have their big, deep, and final dive in the state of Rhode Island. They passed all their written tests with the 100% accuracy required. They will be set to scuba drive anywhere in the world, especially on their honeymoon.
We treated them to lunch. Unfortunately, they passed on the delicious fresh Maine lobsters my husband and I enjoyed, since they are vegans.
Tonight we will order sandwiches for dinner, relax, and enjoy the flowers decorating our home. I just picked this little beauty from the area surrounding our house.

Lots of things happening with you! So, your son and future wife are vegans? How do you feel about that? What did they eat while you were enjoying your lobsters?
Beautiful bouquet of flowers!

They are adults and can make their own decisions. My son never liked meat, even as a child. She is a struck vegan, he is more a vegetarian, but won't eat eggs or fish. They feel great and look great, however, my future DIL may stop when she becomes pregnant. They each had big salads. lol. And thank you!

@1hopefulman Lettuce, more lettuce, organic beets, tomatoes, radishes, and cucumbers, and gluten free croutons with red kidney beans. I was too busy eating my lobster to remember much else. lol

Thanks! I saw my son yesterday when he popped over. I was busy changing the sheets on our bed, so he helped. What a kid! I had to shower and get ready for our guests, so kind of threw him out. Bad mommy! Glad you also had a wonderful beginning to your Autumn!

Scuba diving, I'd love to try that some day! I remember Lloyd Bridges, 'Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.' It was so exciting and I always wanted to learn, how to swim under water. Your visit was a nice surprise, for sure. Your flowers are beautiful!

I remember that show! I have never had the desire to scuba dive, but the kids love it. My other son's wife taught it and taught him, too. She has dived all over the world. It fascinates me, but the underwater photos will have to suffice.
. Thank you about the flowers. I love making little arrangements.

It was too beautiful to keep it locked up in the garage. Besides, the poor car has been neglected since we bought our new one.
Our friends were wise to leave when they did. They used to live up here, but permanently moved to Florida. It was so nice seeing them.

So pretty
! I figured you would be super busy for the next couple weeks! Scuba diving - wow - they are an adventurous couple
. We have a mom friend who is from Maine . . . she and her whole family never have lobster when they are in Maine . . . not because they are vegans . . . they just hate seafood period (I cannot imagine having such taste buds
). Well relax tonight and enjoy the rest of the weekend!!

Thank you. My house is abloom right now. I always try to keep fresh flowers in the house. My grandson used to love lobster, but developed a seafood allergy. Poor kid. How could anyone not love lobster? Lol! I'm heading to bed in a few minutes. I'm truly exhausted.

Our son popped by for a visit yesterday, and he mentioned that when she becomes pregnant, she will most likely stop being a vegan. We shall see what the future holds as far as food is concerned. Glad you like my assortment of weeds and flowers. lol

I wish I had flowers to pick in our gardens. Maybe next year I'll visit a greenhouse and get some plants. Can't start them from seed inside our tiny house.
Oh my, I couldn't be a vegetarian! I enjoy my protein too much. Lobster is high on the yummo list.

@DianneN my husband brought home soil from the farm yesterday. I have to put it in one of the garden beds. I hope to plant garlic this year in the back of the bed. Then put in some bulbs and a couple of perennials.

Thank you! There is nothing better than Maine lobsters, except Australian lobster tails, which we can't get around here. Lol! Life is fun only if you have your health. It wasn't much fun last year this time after my husband needed neck surgery.

Wow what a wonderful day you had. Plus lobster to boot. Sounds delicious. I am so glad the soon to be honeymooners are preparing for their big day and trip to paradise. It sounds like a lot of fun and so exciting to get to dive anywhere in the world. Your flowers are beautiful and Happy New Year. It sounds like your new year is starting off just right with a lot of love, peace and happiness in your life.

@DianneN One you get in the water and start exploring the beauty of the ocean below it is so hard to come back up. You want to stay in that suspended space floating around and taking in all the beauty there is. I love diving here on the islands and at times you forget how long you are down. I am glad it was their final test and I am sure they both passed this with flying colors. I am sure your husband was relieved when he saw the bubbles starting to appear on the surface and the kids coming back up. I am so glad you had the chance to be there and watch them dive.

@poehere I didn't know you were a diver! That's awesome! They have always loved snorkeling together. My son takes great underwater shots. They passed and are good to go!!! Yay! Now, I'm going to have dinner with my hubs and watch Hidden Figures. I heard it was wonderful and have been meaning to see it since last winter. lol. Ttyl!

Awww, thanks so much! My husband wanted to see them dive today, so we woke up real early and drove to Rhode Island. They dove deep into the ocean from a boat. We sat on the boat with the driver for ages. I think my husband was worried that they'd get the bends. Lol!
