Sabbath or day off?

Since I am a Christian, my day of rest is supposed to be Sunday (commemorating the Lord's resurrection). But as a church musician I actually work on Sunday. I figure that is OK since the day is for the Lord and the priests worked on Sabbath. Saturday is my day off work. I have to do housework and these days I have rehearsals for the school musical (that is technically work, but I volunteered to do it because it's fun). I do not enjoy housework and cooking (I cook ahead for the next week) but it has to be done. So, my dilemma is when can I relax? I have pretty much solved this problem by saying "On my day off I can do things at my own pace, sleep in a bit, do what I enjoy, but the laundry and cooking have to get done sometime." On Sundays I have a spiritual relaxing time by being at church, then come home and have a nice long nap or go to the center of Tokyo to visit my family, and don't do anything related to my actual job (and try not to do housework either.) How do you find rest? And if you are of a belief that keeps Sabbath, how do you handle that?

Sunday for me is rest day, that is why i am keeping my mouth shut again today because my sister who often complains of body pains, is working again, like sweeping the floor and the garden.

i believe i have to be with him (God )daily even if I don't go to church often , I have to talk to him every minute and let him know that you need him every second of your life. Bible is everywhere but you have to understand the content and only few pastors are true to be true and sorry to say I don't want a catholic priest for he wil lead me to wrong belief... very sorry. Bible is my only Guide.

That's good. If you follow the Bible you will not go wrong.

I dont do an official sabbath but I know your feeling. Even my "rest days" and days off work are usually packed with plans and errands. Hope you get to relax.

I usually slow down on Sunday, even if doing nothing it's not possible.

I try not to do any more chores than I have to on Sunday. For years my husband worked shift work and at times had to work on Sunday. But I always looked at it as pulling the donkey out of the ditch.

I usually do not do much house chores on Sundays. It's a rest day and family day.
