Canned Spinach?

So earlier this week I was making a point to eat all the food in my cupboar and in the very back of it I found canned spinach. I remember buying thisbecause one of my friends had told me his mom loves the stuff, she eats it right from the can. I love raw spinach,so I figured what the heck! Ill try it too. Finally got the nerve last night and it eas DISGUSTING! I then tried to wam it up, still gross. I also tried to season it eith spices. I could not get over the disgusting texture and taste. I am convinced now this has to maybe be used only in cooking and not just ate. What do you do with canned spinach? I have one more can to use and am morally opposed to throwing it away. Is there any recipe you use canned spinach for? Thanks in advance.

Like @Juliaacv said, I would only use it to make a quiche. A friend likes it hot with melted cheese. I only like it raw in a salad.

I've never had canned spinache, I have had the frozen version of it. I only ever use it in dips or in recipes such as quiche. Do a search and see what it brings up that you could incorporate it in a recipe of some sort.

I definitely did and it had all types of things including using it in smoothies. I am a little hesitant to do that because I think anything with added salt is weird to put in a sweet smoothie.

I always thought I hated spinach because they served canned spinach with vinegar in school lunch. When I met fresh spinach I was very surprised indeed! Maybe melt cheese over it?

My oldest grandson used to like spinach straight out of the can, I can not say I have ever bought it or even tried it sounds rather disgusting to me.

What do I do with canned spinach? If I really do not want to throw them in the bin, I can manage to make an omelette.

I had it a lot growing up. I never had fresh spinach until a year ago. I haven't had canned spinach or any vegetable in many years now. It is totally disgusting, but one thing I did with canned spinach was add lemon juice and spices to it.

1 cup canned spinach 1/2 cup grated cheese of your choice 1/4 cup chopped artichoke hearts (marinated ones from the jar) Salt and black pepper to taste Mix all these ingredients with a fork in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 2 to three minutes. Serve/eat warm with nachos or any chips of your choice. Jalapeno peppers can be added if you want it more pungent. I hope you like it :)

Mix the spinach with egg & sliced onion, season it lightly with salt then makes the whole thing into an omelette. (I hate spinach otherwise!)
