Left unspoken

They haunt me more than the words I accidentally spoken.
Me and @LadyDuck were having this sort of convo with regards to our loved ones. I have come to realize some thing, the words that were left unspoken before a loved one died.
Our mother died June 29, 2003, 6 in the morning. She was at home, was brought home since the doctor told us, honestly told us that there was no chance for our mom to recover, she has been in coma for a week.
Oxygen tank and ambu bags were big help to have her hand in there for more days, that more family and friends can somehow see her alive.
What had in me for more than a decade are words that was never said to her when I had the chance to talk with her before she went into coma.
Lesson learned the hard way indeed and now I have to be more vocal, coz I might not have the time again.

Does this ever touch a spot, down in my heart! Before my mother passed away, I had to go have my eye examined. I had a dark spot in my vision, that wouldn't go away. That day, Mom was in the ICU, not speaking but slowly drifting away. When my appointment was over, I rushed home to find a message, that our mother had passed away. Had I not gone to that doctor, I'd have seen Mom alive, one last time

@Lucky15 Thank you, Reine. I really miss that woman and didn't see her alive, ever again.

We learn as we go. There are things we only realize when it is too late in some cases but we can use what we learned in other future situations.

I'm sorry to hear that. I believe it's a lesson for all of us, we never know when our time or their time will come.

We do sometimes take moments for granted. Only to find out that it's too late. Whatever it is that you wished to tell your Mom, she already know it by now. Hugs.

I imagine most if all of us do end up making that mistake. Glad you are trying harder to not make the mistake again. We tend to take things for granted.

of course your mother knew how you felt, words unspoken.

You can still tell your Mom those words you failed to tell her when she was still alive; in your prayers!
