*"Gee, your hair smells terrific!”

Have you used this shampoo? I used this shampoo with the most fragrant smell, and it cleansed my hair, leaving it soft and silky. I used this in late 80s and early 90s until it disappeared from the grocery stores. I can still recall the advertisement on TV, and it went this way:
A lady talks on camera: “I don’t use ‘gee, your hair smells terrific’ just because it smells good. I use it because it’s a good shampoo. My hair is clean and shiny, and even though it smells terrific, I just don’t believe anyone would ever tell me so.” Then a man passes by and smells her hair and says, “Gee, you hair smells terrific!” and then the lady smiles sheepishly and says, “I guess you’d never know.”
I thought about this because my son, after his bath, would kiss me and let me smell his hair. It smells like the apple, because I gave him my shampoo. It is the green one. The Nivea is a body wash also for him.
Also, I remembered a former student of mine (who is reviewing for the nurse’s licensure examination) who was so untidy that his uniform was grayish-white, had unkempt hair, and worse, has body smell. Once, when I was near his head, I smelled his hair and I uttered, “Gee, your terrific hair smells!” I then told him about personal hygiene because as nurses, we should be clean and neat.
How do you tell somebody if his hair smells?

I used that shampoo back when in the 80s because it was something my mom bought for the whole family back then. Then mom changed to Pantene in the 90s.
You smell good! That's what I say.

@ridingbet Back in the 80s, the shampoos were great. I didn't even use a conditioner back when I was a college student in the mid 90s.

i like the pink one, and it also had the green for anti-dandruff shampoo. i did not try the conditioner because my hair was feeling and smelling good even with the shampoo alone.

@toniganzon i believe the conditioner was the latest 'discovery' when shampoos were in small plastic packages. the sachet came a bit later. before too, shampoos were in breakable bottles.

i think the manufacturers should revive that shampoo. there are other shampoos that i used that are gone now. one is the HALO.

@Happy2BeMe Halo and Palmolive as shampoo, and Ivory and Safeguard were the oldest bars of soap here. they are still in the grocery stores. Klim was one milk i so love the taste, but here in my country, it is no longer available.
Halo had the unique shape of bottle, and its golden color had good fragrance.

yes, and he was even the object of ridicule by his classmates when they had a recollection. somebody pasted a sheet of paper behind him and what was written was his being untidy, unkempt, smelly, and everything bad. the recollection was meant for the student to change his ways.

@bluesa when we go to school for the case presentation, he was always there (they are reviewing for the board examination for nurses). as usual too, he is still untidy with beard and mustache that the hairs are still growing.

I use different brands that smell great and do the job. Never really smelled anyone's hair at least not that I can recall

since our hair is the crowning glory, we can readily know if it smells good by its appearance. my student's hair was messy and oily, and he looked untidy, really.

i sampoo my hair everyday with the Patchouli, or when i am on duty, i shampoo every other day but condition it with the black cream silk. sometimes too, the green one because it is for hair fall control.
