A tournament experience

A sports festival was held here last Friday to celebrate our agency's founding anniversary. I was chosen to represent our team in the table tennis event. I am not really playing the said sports but I know how to play a little. I just never had the chance to practice because of my hectic schedule. So the game went fine. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to win the game. I played against a veteran player. They said he was a national team member. Maybe if I was matched with the other three participants to the said event, I could win at least one game. Have you been in a tournament like this? Are you a well trained player of your chosen sports? Have you win any of the sports event you have joined or participated? Please share you experience.

That would be fun. I have taken part last year in the running event held at military camp I was in. There out of 100 approximately I had come 15th or 16th.

@shubhu3 Oh, so you're a soldier? I am into running too. I joined a few running events before. My longest though is 21K only, half marathon. I just stopped two years ago because I became too busy with my school kids with their projects, homework, etc. that I can't find time for my own sports.

@neildc That's great. Nah! I am not a soldier. We had gone to a military camp from our college side.

Back in my school days our team used to win a lot in the game of volleyball. But I have grown older and I never played after that anymore.

Not at all interested in joining sports. Anyway, getting bracketed with a national team member is part of the breaks of the game.

It is okay, even if you did not win, the mere fact that you are able to compete makes you a winner in your own right. I am not into any kind of sports but I love watching basketball.

I also played basketball in our barangay when I was a teen. I am not good in basketball that much and I was only able to be part of the team because I was one of the founders of the group, original member, where the basketball team named after.

I'm not participant in any sports anymore because of my uric acid. I can only walk and use a stationary bike. It's a shame I didn't know about this before. Anyways, I had chance to play basketball in my youth, but didn't do it.
