Do you save regularly?

I have always admired people who regularly put a little aside each week or each month. People who treat saving as just a fact of life.
I have never been a saver.
I have my reasons (excuses) - I bought my first house at 19 years old, and wasn't in a position to ever put any money aside for years and years as I was too busy trying to make ends meet, and I guess I just have always been that way.
Do you save regularly ?

Save 10 percent of what you earn and to not touch it. keep it for at least a year then decide if it's worth spending in just one instant or to save another 10 percent or even 20 percent and add that to the balance over the second year then keep going until you can buy something really good that you can appreciate. Even a dollar saved per every 50 is putting money away for an emergency or something unexpected.

I wish I had got into the habit from my first ever pay packet
I do sometimes worry about not having any savings

@YesWay , A penny saved is a penny earned. Even a little bit helps.

I do not. Neither does my mom. But everything gets paid and we have some spare money to eat out or shop

Yes that's how I am too. Everything is always paid, but I can't help but think I should have a little bit stashed away for a rainy day

I try. Unfortunately, I'm having to go through what little savings I have just to pay some bills at the moment. However, I am grateful that I was in a position to save that small amount and actually have it to help out when I need it!
I save whenever I can. It's not easy if you're on a low income and struggling to make ends meet. Not everyone can do it. But I will also put some aside whenever I am able. This year, a year's worth of saving meant being able to have a family holiday, attend my step-daughter's wedding, and meet our granddaughters. If I hadn't had any savings, we'd have missed out on all of that.
I find it's easier to save if I have a goal. I'll name my savings account. Last year, it was called "Girls and Wedding". This time, it's called "Christmas". As I said, sadly, I've had to clean it out but I should be able to put some back in the next few weeks!
Because I've never had a lot, I do make an effort to save for the things I really want. I'm going to have to do some serious saving now, though, as next year will be expensive - one child turning 21, another 18. Hopefully, both will be going to university. Might have to put our holiday abroad and my wedding on hold for another couple of years!

As you say though, it's good to have the savings there. And I guess that's the whole point - so they are there when you need them

We could never save when our kids were small, there was always something they needed, and me and their dad went without a lot. But that's what you do for your kids. Now that they are grown and we are retired we have been able to save. And we have enough to be comfortable, it's really nice not worrying about money anymore

@YesWay It's a huge relief, I never had that until the kids grew up and we retired.

I save one third of my rewards every month, cause at present I have no specific things to expense. maybe the saving change as conditions change, but penny and penny laid up will be many.

Yes, I do but not merely in bank accounts. I consider my investments as part of my savings. What I want to build up is an emergency fund for myself. I'm working on that currently.

My only source of savings goes into my PayPal account. The rest usually goes for bills and regular monthly expenses.

Saving something aside actually depends on your income and scale of preference in your responsibilities but if your earnings are much than you expenses weekly or monthly, I will suggest you save something good in case of emergency.
