Do you like having your picture taken?

I'm one of those who does not like having my picture taken. I find it very hard to "smile for the camera," probably because it looks fake, and I know my eyes aren't into it. It's less difficult if I have sunglasses on, but I still feel "fake" when asked to smile for the camera.
I think that's a part of why I like taking pictures of people "doing what they do." I don't mind it as much when people take pictures of me playing music or sanding speakers, because that's what I do. I'm not "smiling for the camera."
Many of my best kid pictures are of them doing what they do. In this case, I was able to capture the care with which a 3-year-old eats her lunch. You've already seen pictures of my 8-year-old neighbor friend concentrating on "projects" with me.
Anyway, do you like "smiling for the camera"? Or do prefer pictures of you when you're doing what you do?

You will notice thT I'm rarely the subject in most of the pictures I share. I rarely like the way I look on camera. My extra pounds are too evident...my crinkles when I'm looking into the sun...oh...and then there is my blonde hair (not so much blonde as white now). Vanity...I know it's is just vanity.
I've earned the wrinkles and the silver hair....the extra pounds....well....we are working on that.

@CoralLevang ..I am being extremely decent for a change because just yesterday Pony said I am not a troll..teasing him now will seem so ungrateful. But honestly, I am itching..

I'd rather no pics of me . I don't like the fake, posed smiles (because it seems I've forgotten how to do that). But I don't like the candid ones either (the ones of me often capture an odd moment in my expression). I wish emoji's could represent me in photos .

@TheHorse This is a great photo of you! As good as a smile is, not everyone is smiling all the time - and to not smile doesn't necessarily mean that you are unhappy at that moment. I can see how you're chillin' here and doin' your thang .

@CoralLevang Some have said they think I'm aloof. Until they talk to me.

@TheHorse - I have never thought much about it. I don't mind getting my picture taken. In fact, with my large family, I really treasure photos of us all!

@TheHorse - I'm sorry to hear that. The older I get, the more joy I get out of looking at old family photos and I look forward to passing them on to our children.

I am the same here. My pictures come out so awkward looking. The experience itself is awkward and uncomfortable. My eyes are like icing on the cake. They are light sensitive. They close faster than the flash.

Depends on the situation, but I like the seriousness with this picture.

@TheHorse Makes a lot of sense. Capturing a person in their natural pose and environment instead of making someone aware you need to take a picture of them.

@KrauseHome Yep. I feel it does a better job of capturing who they really are.

@TheHorse I'm not a big selfie fan anymore, but when I have taken them *I* prefer to take them because I can delete what I don't like and I make sure I'm at the right angle and such before sharing them.
I haven't taken a selfie in quite a while though...it's obvious I am getting older.

Nah, don't like smiling for the camera @TheHorse . Of course, I don't want to be caught picking my nose either.

No I do not. I managed to duck 3 of 4 years of high school photos. Aside from passport and driver's license, only two photos have been taken ofme as an adult and one of those is gone period.

@TheHorse I prefer the posed pictures. I always think it will be something that other people can remember me by.

No I don`t because people always take horrible pictures at the wrong time, like when I am yawning or freakin eating!
The posed photos do feel fake. Since I have just about given up make up it feels weird to take photos, you can see the lines and darkness under my eyes. Its a fake smile is I do not have crows feet beaming

I think i'm one of those people who are like you. I can totally relate to it, when you say you can't smile at the camera and you feel its all fake, yes, i also feel the same.
Its so forced sometimes and i sometimes feel weird posing for pics.
Some people are gifted though, they can just smile like that and pose for the pics, blessed creatures who always have great pics to cherish.
