KNIGHTS IN SHINING ARMOR.

Is chivalry dead? When was the last time a man did the following for you: (1) Open a car door for you
(2) Pull out your chair in the restaurant and see you seated before seating himself.
(3) No empty seat available on the bus or subway? a man gets up and offers you his.
(4) You are having a hard time changing your car tire on the road and a man comes to your assistance - even though he is dressed in an expensive looking business suit.
(5) you are waiting in a long line to purchase tickets or something else - a man closer to the front of the line beckons to you and gives up his space.
(6) A stranger is very rude to you and your gallant companion calls him out, or engages him in battle (of words preferably) I could go on, but I am trying to avoid a lengthy post.
Have you met a Knight in shining armor recently?

My fiance will definitely do No. 6. He will not stand for anybody disrespecting me. He does most of the above. We both allow people in line ahead of us at the grocery store if they only have a few items. I take the city transit bus quite often and I do see men get up and give a woman their seat. The other day I was putting air in my tire and a man came over to offer help. I thanked him but old him I had it.in do see men pulling the chair out for them women at restaurants.

Yes, but I don't have a horse! Aren't some of the things you mention unwanted in this day and age unless you are on a date or know the person?

@1hopefulman If you ride it with authority and shoulders squared - then no problem.

@Kandae11 I guess I missed my calling in wearing the outfit of the Knight in Shining Armour.

some men here are still knights; others too mind their own businesses.

@Kandae11 some women still want to be respected by men. a seat in a transportation is a good example of chivalry.

Seeing a gentleman these days is very rare.
That opening the door and offering of seats for women are slowly disappearing.
Maybe because of this "Equality between Men and Women" which is becoming known to everybody or could also be because of the modern living that influences our people today.

My husband is the sweetest guy and most guys I know are the same. I think the whole 'womens lib' thing really did 0 favors for women and after awhile men got tired of the cold shoulder and the accusations that they are weak just because a man is simply being nice! Men back in the day were raised to be gentlemen. Women were raised to be ladies. Women's lib did give women some rights they didn't have back in the day but they pushed and pushed and pushed that men now? Well, they'll let her fall on her face because they are tired of being pushed around by women. Yep.. women.

I think Chris would calls out someone if they are rude to me, but he doesn't open the door, or pulls a seat out for me.

Yes a man stopped and asked if I need help fixing a flat, but I was done. Tony will not allow anyone to be rude or disrespect to me or my sister.

Chivalry is now one of the endangered species of our planet. You are very lucky when one day you meet him in the train, in the car park, in the bus, and comes to help you change the tire. Very few now.
