When You Know It's Fake.

So as usual, I was surfing Pinterest when I came across a few DIY (Do It Yourself) beauty hacks....as they call it. They were 'make it at home' treatments for better skin, lips and such. As most people do, there were pictures attached to these articles. However, it was quite evident that these pictures that were attached to the article were just lifted off the Internet. The article claimed that those were the results of using the recipe. Yet the pictures were obviously not of the person who wrote the article and claimed to have tried it. What is this very obvious level of deception all about? The Internet seems to be becoming more and more unreliable by the minute! Personally, I think Youtube video's are better when it comes to DIY recipes.

Plagiarism is rife, that is the problem - you can see it here on myLot too. I hope you Report such articles when you see such blatant duplication here.

You're right it is a problem. I would never take credit or post work that isn't mine. It's an issue of ethics! I wouldn't want someone taking credit for my work so I don't do it. If I find something interesting I'll say where I found the information from. Some of my drawings I use reference material such as the puppies that I drew but I don't paste the actual photo and say I took that picture of an adorable puppy!

@ArtisticFlames Some, it would seem, have many less scruples... What you describe is a natural phenomenon for anyone who takes pride in their words or actions, I think.

I also like it better to watch DIY's at You Tube. I was amazed at how one can put-on make-up for an occassion. So many eyeshadows and paraphernalia to use. But it's amazing how one can be beautified when the make-up is the type that can enhance your face.

You have to be smart enough to know the fake from the real thing.

It is easier to copy and paste. When someone is copying and pasting, s/he should at least give the credit to the website from where the images have been taken.

I would rather watch a video where I can see some one using what they are writing about and those beauty tips on internet, I don't believe half of it. Mostly bogus
