#MeToo?

Have you guys noticed this hash-tag trending?
I can't believe the number of my friends who have this on their status. This is alarming.
For the ones who don't yet know what this is all about. This is a hash-tag to let people know that you have been sexually assaulted or abused at some point in your life. The magnitude and reality of it is meant to spread awareness of how many of us stay silent on this matter.
I have had 2 experiences myself of being touched inappropriately that I have never spoken about. Once by a stranger on the bus and the other was by a female friend when I was very young.
I know how it feels but what is unbelievable is the magnitude of this problem in the society.
It is so disturbing to know how many of my friends are in this list.
This seems to be a worldwide issue.

How are you doing? I am thinking of starting a hashtag #youtoo (I intend to include those who are missing from mylot)

I was not aware about it till I read your discussion. I am not very clear how using a hastag #metoo is going to spread awareness about the issue.

@ms1864 To my mind it is not going to make any difference. It is one of the publicity gimmicks to draw attention of people like you and me.

Sad. How much of it do you think is actually needed and how much do you think is just 'hopping on the bandwagon'?
The way many might understand it---these women are actually collaborators--aiding-and-abetting the 'harassment'--if they did not tell the men to stop. (And I'm talking about 'the innocent-but-uncomfortable closeness,' not 'the sick-sick-sick stuff that the women felt they were forced-into.')
