Earlier i used to lend money but realized that it is real hard to get back money once given.I have to visit several times to their home to meet them and request them to return and each time they give one or another excuse. Finally i made promise to myself that from now onward i will never gave money to anyone.
Even i have seen people taking advantage of other people and they ask money for treatment and they play gamble.

I lend money to lot of friends and borrow from them as well. What are friends for? Should help each other when needed. I am sure I will get every piase of my money back from my friends because they are my FRIENDS.

I really meant to say that friends are meant for to be helped and to help. But in case you lost your friend due to money matter, it would be grate loss. wfhen amounts are less, it may not matter but if it is big, there's a chance of loosing both your money and friend though some consideration is there..

Good idea.. if you will not lend money to your friends, they may upset with for a short time, but after that every thing will be normal. But if you lend & he did not refund, I can guarantee you that you will loose your friend.

Yes I do lend money to my friends. They are good payers so I never try to avoid them but if I have no available cash I told them that I have no money right now.

If you want to make a friend to a enemy, then you should lend some money to him. Or if not, then simply tell "My pocket is empty". Believing you or not, is totally his problem.

No, because I don't have extra money to lend to my friends.

Thanks for responding to such a old posting. You are right. Another evidence happened with me with this new year, 3-4 friends asked me for 04 tickets of a star hotel party on 31st Dec. As i was given them, but when after 15 days asked for money what he had told you would not believe & i am wirting this because, trust me, they all are very close to me & vanished over one night for matter of Few Thousand Rupees & i have spent 30 years with them to establish or maintain a relationship. If i would have deny for the tickets at that moment, they may be angry with me for the moments, but i would not have lost them. So now i lost money with my friends.

I have one friend name Mr.Prakash he is very closed to me sometimes he asked me very small amount. And i have not asked me to because of his poorness. I did not rember one day i lend him Rs.75,000/- for his urgency to illness of his brother and he promised me to give within 1 or two months. But he did not give after 1 or two or more it has been since 2 years but every time he told me stories. i have strongly decided NOT TO GIVE LEND MONEY TO ANYBODY.

yes of course i will lend money to my friends but i will be choosy though. There are friends who could take it for granted. I will not mind if the situation is understandable. Like maybe the friend is too poor.. i will just consider it as a donation. If i knew that the friends are not reliable, i simply give them excuses. :D If the amount is too large, i will definitely give excuses. You never know when you will be needing your money. So, better to just say sorry i want to but i can't afford to lend.

It depends to the things and people. To my best friends,I will lend money to them.Even if I have no money,I try to answer this problem. But to most people,I will avoid it because they cant return money on time.

I understand the gravity of money as well as best friends. This discussion i have started before two years i think, not exactly remebered. It already happend with me, till date i have to loose my one of the best friends by giving or taking money(not prefer to say what exactly). The result is our relation ruined. Later we can recover our money from any sources but never a best friend. Any thanks for replying.

I don't have extra money to lend, but if I had it, I wouldn't because I'd rather help a friend with their needs instead of handouts because it's not a good habit to get into. You may not stay friends for long.

Sometimes I lend money to my friends. It really depends on who it is and how credible they are in my book. I'd lend my sister or boyfriend money any day, but most people I know I'd be a lot more cautious about.
