Thank goodness I don't work!!! Work always interfered with my social life, even though I enjoyed a long and wonderful career.
Since the wedding of our son, my husband and I have returned to our busy social life. Last night, yes, on a Wednesday, we had plans with our dearest and oldest friends.
Since the wife had to drop her granddaughter off at dance class, her husband made us drinks and appetizers which we had in their screened in porch. The weather was perfect.
We met her at a famous family owned pizza restaurant in which you had to know someone to get in. Our friends were the someone. We ordered a white pizza loaded with fresh picked lobster, scallops, and shrimp. Fantastic!
This visit with our friends was the fourth in less than two weeks. We already have plans for two more get togethers, and will see them in Florida. So my life is returning to normal, and I'm back to business!
Do you have close friends you socialize with often?

Whew! I bet you are glad to be back to normal. Most of my friends are homebodies but I stopped by a friends house yesterday to say hello. Since I am caring for Tony I have become a more stay at home person.

When my children were young, I was a stay at home mom. We got the kids together at least once a week with our friends and their kids. Saturday nights we had some wonderful babysitters. It's important to have date nights with hubby and/or friends.

That sounds like an awful pizza to me . But glad you enjoyed it.
Online yes, not in person. People here suck, and everyone knows everyone, and its drama filled from it.

It was delicious and I only eat Italian pizza. None of those white bread with sauce and cheese pizzas for me. lol
I have some truly wonderful online friends, too, but am lucky to have so many wonderful, true blue, friends here and in Florida. I don't know how I'd live without them.

That's wonderful that you have close friends, but so sorry your husband gets tired easily. I know you are taking good care of him. My old routine gives me something to write about. Otherwise, all I can write about is Doodles and his antics.

And you are busier than ever! That pizza sounds scrumptious. I have close friends but rarely see them, we're all too busy being busy. We talk about getting together but it never happens. I am happy you had a wonderful time. Love the photo!

@DianneN - Yes, we have several couples whom we socialize with often. I agree that it is a good thing I no longer work! I feel as if I'm busier than ever since we retired! LOL

I have a friend that we keep in touch through e-mails and do not see each other a lot except she volunteers in the library in the building where I sell so see her then. We go out to eat each year in the summer for our birthdays. She has a family and I have a weird schedule so we do not see each other much. She is very special to me. I am happy for you that you are so busy and have lots to keep yourself occupied all the time.

No I don't really have any close friends. It is mostly just my fiance and I or my kids and grandchildren. We don't socialize to often. Glad you had such a great time!

I'm a Connecticut girl, too! My younger son lives 1007 feet from the beach. It takes us about 20 minutes to get there. We also go to Florida for the winter. Lake Worth, between Palm Beach and Delray on the East Coast. Lucky us! lol
We seem to love the same things!

Not much but a few who are not that social at this moment of their life's, I love the way you are making out with your friends. If I was in the states would like to hang around with you so I can take some lessons on living life socially.
