I was surprised by this group, That was years ago when me and my girlfriend( now my wife), was at the park to relax when this religious group with a bible in their hands approached us and make friendly talk to us. And ask things, and after those blah blah things, they prayed on us, then came the unexpected... they are asking for money... we give them what we have...What can you say about such activity?...please not mention any religious groups or denomination, thanks...

when a group of women are outside the gate, with envelops, and say they need money for the construction of their chapel, i always ask if they are permitted to go house to house but somehow they don't, so i tell them to have their certificates be approved by the barangay council or the chairman. or SEC.

I will not give them a penny, sometimes they only use it for things that are not good.

i feel that their members should be the ones contributing to their own church.

I think they beg for food, when someone gave me the envelope it said that the money is for food I gave 20 pesos only and the man thanked me and made a sign of the cross

Yes, you're right, I think they should, we have also our own church to stick to, for this things they do it's like doing business and using their church as a reason....

Yaiks! The messenger of the Word of God does not ask money in return of their prayers. That is not what Jesus Christ taught His disciples. In Matthew, Jesus said Go therefore.make disciples of all nation baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.. He did not say collect money from them. I can't blame people saying bad things about Christians because of this act.

Yes, you're right there my friend, he commanded the Apostles to preach, heal the sick cast out devils, freely you have receive, freely give.(Matthew 10:8)...True Christians should know this things and follow it as well...

This sounds a bit fishy. I think I would have had to respond that no thanks, I cannot give you money today. Nowadays, people on the streets are just wanting handouts here in the U.S. You have to ask for proof of charity organization if you are unfamiliar with them.

@ARN4567 I would think that if they got upset by you asking that they were guilty of fraud and not the intention that they were asking for money for. And yes, no problem if you know the people or organization :)

Yes. asking for proof would be a good idea, I hope they don't get us wrong in asking for it we just need to know where our donations are going to, just to make sure.....also I wouldn't be bothered if we were of the same church...thanks for your response......

That is so disappointing. They would preach and ask money. How can you believe that they practice what they preach if they will ask for money.

It really is disappointing to know such practice of others...esp., it involves money in which I think they're more into it...
