Tuesday October 24th in this side of the world. Soon I will be without Internet because of a major change that requires a technician to come to our home. After the Internet plugs and the router are changed, we will get a faster line. If everything goes well, the Internet line will be back late afternoon, after 6 PM. I hope that nothing wrong happens, I am stressed and I would love to keep my old line. Wish me luck and cross your fingers. If you do not hear from me, you know which is the problem.

The line is still working, now I am wondering why they told me that I would have been without from 9 in the morning.

@lnillerman As I said, this was not an Internet problem, we had to switch the line from the copper cable to the fiber cable. it requires the intervention of a technician.

This should be a simple case of disconnect the old router and connect a new one, which would take less than a minute. Of course such companies can easily spread this over several hours to give the impression that it is a major undertaking.

No, it's not only a matter to switch the router, we also change the landline system. The existing one (ISDN) is no more supported and we get that garbage of VOIP. They have to replace the old phone/ISDN router plug with a new one. Of course this is something we could easily do if they allowed us.

@LadyDuck I hear that fibre is the best. My one friend has it but he stays in a different region. He has told me that because it is so fast, you don't know how much you actually use. Then halfway through the month, it gets cut off and he has to ay more money for more data.

@Chantiele Fiber is the fastest connection. They have installed the underground pipes and cables last year and they are now connecting the houses.

The tech came one hour before and it was a good thing, because it was not easy to remove the old connections, replace the Internet and Telephone plugs and install the new router and check if all the computer attached were working properly (we have 5 computers at home). Today everything seems to work.
