What does your laundry area look like?

As sometimes happens here on mylot, someone's discussion will trigger another discussion. I was reading Deb's dicussion on the neat little laundry room she found, I thought of this. My laundry area is kind of like a little kiosk if you will which is just off the kitchen. It is enclosed by some doors and is kind of an all purpose area which has the water heater, the inside section of the heat pump, the water heater and the washer and dryer. It is functional, but not much to look at. I wish I had a shelf or two in there. IF i didn't have so much for my son to do when he comes down, I would have him build it! I guess I could try as well, but I am not very handy. They would have to be super easy to install shelves!

Oh I have lived in apartments a couple of times that didn't have a laundry room in the apartment but they had them in the basement. One time I live in a place where the laundry facilities were on the apartment grounds across from my house. I don't remember it being too much of a hassle. One thing I do remember is they had a vending machine in it and my son became a big fan of the Yoohoo beverage it served.

My husband and I rent the unit that we're in, but unfortunately we don't have washer/dryer in our unit. We do have a laundry room in the building for everyone to share. It's just down the hall. So, it's not so bad. I'm just starting to wish we had a washer/dryer in our unit, but such is life.

Yeah, maybe sometime. It is very convenient to have one available at all times that's for sure.

I have a small utility room where I have kept the washing machine , and a shelf above that where I keep the detergent and other paraphernalia required for laundry . I keep the large laundry basket next to the washing machine , also the ironing board on the opposite side . I wish I had a larger room where I could keep a clothes stand since it comes in handy during monsoons.

There is space for everything I need for the laundry but shelves would be handy.

The laundry area in my house is located in the backyard. It was a nice place to do the laundry while enjoying the fresh air touching my face.

@Shavkat OH, but if you are getting weather from outside it is still exposed..unless you have it covered by something.

@snowy22315 It wasn't exposed to the neighbors. It is strictly within the family circle.

We have a nice laundry room with a door to go outside. Lots of cupboards, I just wish it was a little bit wider.

Yeah wider would be a little better for me too. I do store a few things in there..but a bit more space would be nice.

Yes. You can have nice shelves. Most of the things can be accommodated in them. Better use a hose/pipe for filling water.

Our washer and dryer are in our basement, so it's not much to look at but it's functional and out of the way.
