I think the national news has had a story about Sherin Mathews; a 3-year-old girl that went missing in Richardson, Texas on 10/7. After hearing the ridiculous story given by the father about 'how' the child went missing; I phoned the Richardson police Hot Line.
If you hadn't heard, he said that the child has mental disabilities and was refusing to drink milk; so at 3am, he took the child from the house, across an alley and left her under a tree as punishment. When he went back 15 minutes later, she was gone. NOT.
I told the police; #1-Why would he take her outside of the 'fenced' yard. #2-With the child's disability, she would not have taken off but would have clung to the tree like a child grabs a parents leg when scared.
Mr. Mathews had stated that after he realized she was missing, he went in and did a load of laundry. Really??? He didn't bother calling the cops until 8am or bothered to wake his wife (a nurse). I told the HotLine that Mr. Mathews probably forced the milk down the child's throat and she choked to death and they needed to confiscate the clothing he supposedly washed and check the car for nemesis.
The police did get a search warrant and confiscated not only all the vehicles, but the washer & dryer along with other items. They did find the child's body about 1/2 mile from the home in a culvert several days later.
Mr. Mathews then changed his story from someone kidnapping the child to: Yes, I forced the milk down her throat and she choked to death and I panicked....yada, yada, yada.
Maybe my tip to the HotLine actually got things going in the right direction.
RICHARDSON -- Wesley Mathews told police an alternate version of how his 3-year-old daughter ended up dead in a Richardson ditch, according to...

Me too and considering the child 'could' have been saved by the adopted Mom, there is no excuse @1creekgirl .

Me too. I also asked them to check paperwork on whether or not there was a Life Insurance Policy on the child @Kandae11 . There have been many cases where a child with disabilities was adopted from a foreign country only to die and to find out there was a large policy on the child.

I am glad you made the call. We will never know if it was the key, but it makes sense to me. It is so tragic and inappropriate as well. People use no sense these days.

I guess the guy grew tired of this kind and went nuts. Of course, now all he could do is lie over such incident. But I haven't heard this news in my country.

And he should have realized that getting a child with disabilities was going to be challenging @Letranknight2015 . He was definitely not prepared.

He's in jail right now under a $1 million dollar bond @shivamani10 . I'm sure that's where he'll stay until his trial.

Oh my god... That poor child and mother. The evil in this world is just unbelievable sometimes. YOUR WIFE IS A NURSE. WAKE HER UP.

Unless she had a part in it @mikaelajuliet . I know her lawyer quit being her counsel so it's possible she knew everything and he didn't to be any part of it.
