Have you ever been to Iceland?

One of my friends leaves in a couple days for an 8 day adventure in several different parts in Iceland. She is going without any friends but with a tour group of strangers that she will hopefully become friends with. For six of the days they will be doing tours and she will have 2 days to explore on her own if she chooses. Firstly I am applauding her. She is a shy person so to see her goig on a trip with strangers is going to be a great way to socialize. Would you do a trip like that? I am not sure that I would. Also haveyou ever been to Iceland? If so, which part? And did you see anything that you would absolutely suggest or not suggest?

I've never been to Iceland, but a friend of mine has been there several times and she loves the place. She always tells me she wants to live there! Unfortunately, I have no hint for your friend, but I think she will have so much fun, if she enjoys adventure in places with any other soul for kilometers and kilometers. If she is this kind of person, quiet, she will love it! (I would!)

I think that's a great way to take a holiday if you have no-one to go with. The furthest north I've been is Norway, I've not been to Iceland.

I'd never be so brave, to take a tour with strangers! I've never been to Iceland, but my sister's plane landed there, when she was flying to Finland. I think the airport was in Reykjavik.

@maezee My sister didn't get off the plane, it was just a stopover to pick up other passengers.

That's pretty cool. I'm shy too, but I don't think I would be able to go by myself.

Never been to iceland. If given a chance, its okay to travel with strangers. Its one reason anyway of travelling to socialize

if i'm joining a tour group alone for the first time, and don't know anyone, for 8 days, i would probably choose a much closer place.

I have never been to Iceland, but have heard that it is lovely! A friend of mine went on a tour with a group of strangers and ended up having a wonderful time . She visited Paris, Amsterdam and Venice.

I would love to go to Iceland. I've never been there. Going anywhere alone doesn't bother me.

That is so cool! That is a way to open up! I would so do something like that. I am more open when I am around strangers than when I am with friends anyway haha!

I think Iceland is pretty amazing from the pictures I've seen. Tours are pretty friendly I would think? See what she says though when she gets back.
