Let's go... 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and breath again.
Have you ever seen yourself in a situation where you had to breathe very calmly to avoid a bigger problem?
This can be very difficult (depending on the type of situation), but it's something that needs to be done.

Yes this is part of life, staying cool when cool is needed.

My nerves always get frazzled in nervous situations so I always find it difficult to stay cool

I don't know if in your case it is to avoid getting angry but for me it is mostly to stop anxiety. However, I did have a friend when I was younger who used to do this slow breathing and count aloud whenever she felt like things were sort of getting out of control. It tended to make everyone else stop and listen too so it was quite effective.

Definitely. My roommate was actually shot last week, and I was the only one home. He wanted me to drive him to the hospital, but I couldn't, so he drove himself. I called my mom first, crying hysterically, but panic didn't set in up until I called my boyfriend. I was hyperventilating, I couldn't breathe, I couldn't talk, and I couldn't think. He kept trying to get me to focus on my breathing, but I was so panicked, that I wasn't paying attention to anything he was saying, and he was at work at the time. Eventually, I calmed down, but that was the worst panic attack I had ever had, and if I didn't slow my breathing, I would've ended up in the hospital.

Oh yes I've been there, done that, when I really have to exercise control over my emotions,
less, I'd say something I'll regret later.
