It's been a while since you last heard from me.
I've been pretty down since the news about my friend's rare form of colon cancer. I've been in touch with her and her daughters. The surgery went well, she went home yesterday, and will need six months of chemotherapy. Yet, I'm so happy for her prognosis! She's a tough cookie, and I feel in my heart that she can beat this. Thank you for your prayers!!!!
Saturday night my husband and I went out to dinner with two other couples. We discussed those we know who either lost or won this battle with colon cancer. Many have won, and for that I say, "Wow!"
~ Photo is the wedding party of our son and his bride. The proofs are in! ~

Finally I get to see the photo of your son's wedding and what a nice gown you're wearing!
I'm sorry about your friend though and I believe she can get through this. Praying for her progress.

I keep hearing and seeing more and more information about how the incidences of colon cancer are skyrocketing among the general public. I wonder if the increased rates of the disease are a result of all the garbage we consume, or is it just a matter of better medical testing now compared to in the past?

@DianneN I think I read somewhere recently that cases of colon cancer are up more than 30% compared to 10 or 20 years ago. Some of that may be attributed to better screening, but some may be due to other root causes.

I hope and pray that she beats this. I have lost many loved ones from this insidious cancer.

@DianneN It sure is and it's past time for a cure. All the billions of dollars spent to cure I have to wonder why it hasn't happened yet, or has it??

I'm really sorry to hear about your friend. It's not easy when someone you know has to go through this. One of my really close friends is has leukemia for the second time. She got the second diagnosis a few months back. Thankfully, she's getting better, but it's still not easy. I hope that your friend gets better and it goes well.

I'm sorry to hear your friend is going through chemotherapy, for colon cancer. We lost our friend Chuck, to that cancer, about ten years ago, it was a very sad time for our grand-kids. This was their grandpa on their dad's side of the family. A lot has changed in the past ten years though, through research. Methods keep changing and improving with time.
