Lantern Festival.

Has anyone here been to a lantern festival before? It's such a breathtaking experience! I went to one in Reno last year with my boyfriend and basically many people go to this area which is an outdoor open event and light these biodegradable lanterns up into the night sky at the same time. It's so beautiful honestly! I would love to go do this again one day!

@Datazngirl i think it was done here few years back. But they did it in a crowded place so a house was burned because of that.

@magallon oh no! That's not good. No houses were burned at the event I went to. It was open field of dirt, with no houses nearby.

Yes they do have them in the Korean Dramas! They usually make a wish before setting it off into the sky! :) It's a tradition to make a wish before letting it go actually.

@shubhu3 you should definitely go one of these days! It's one of those things where no matter how great you tell someone it is, you gotta experience it for yourself! I felt like I was in a fairytale and didn't want it to end lol.

I have wanted to see one in person ever since Tangled I am glad to hear they use biodegradable lanterns for these, but won't the burning stuff still harm the environment, i am not quite sure

They actually even played the song that Tangle played! It really brought back the movie memories haha. It's actually safe since the lanterns are biodegradable and they have a cleanup crew to clean up all the lanterns afterwards. Each lantern had a tracking number too!

Our city also organized this lantern festival every first day of December, mostly are also made from indigenous materials.

Really it looks magnificent. I wasn't on such a celebration an I would like to. Once I saw the big fireworks with many-many lights and it was so impressive!

I had never experienced. I had seen in some Koreanovelas. But I think it is fun to participate in such event.

Never been to any lantern festival, but I can imagine how beautiful it must be. Recently, people of our country (India) celebrated the festival of lamps (Diwali) and I believe it is similar.

Wow, it looks very beautiful. I have never been to a lantern festival before. In our country, we don't have such a festival. It's really a fabulous picture.
