How do you go Swallowing Pills?

I can swallow a dozen at a time with a small gulp of water (or coffee). Some are quite big and a couple are small. I'm amazed how some folk have a problem just swallowing one. How do you go?

I take three pills a day and I have no problem swallowing them with a drink but wouldn't want to have to take anymore. My fiance has a hard time swallowing pills. He takes quite a bit of them now so he does better but he still struggles with getting them down.

Is he using water to swallow? Does he have a problem with swallowing in general? Maybe if he tried something thicker than water like milk or similar he might find it easier.

@MsTickle it takes it with different liquids but it's always the same. He has no problem swallowing other things. He is just not a pill taker.

@Happy2BeMe sometimes with some people they stick in your throat, like the liquid is just washing over top or sometimes they actually stick in your mouth

@LadyDuck Yes, that's the word I was looking for psychological...psycho for short.

@MsTickle I think it's psychological, he says that the pill does not go down and it melts in his mouth and so and so. Men can be kids.

I go with one at a time, though I have tried swallowing 6 pills at once with a gulp of water.

So you have a problem with swallowing food too. That must be awful. Or is it only tablets?

@Lejlacka When I was a child i had problems swallowing tablets. My mother became impatient with me and I became frustrated with myself. I overcame my problem mentally with determination because i was scared of my mother.

I think water is the best when you swallow pills. As something like coffee, juice, milk etc. may have an effect on the pills. If the pills are small and not so many, I prefer to swallow once. Or I have to swallow my pills for a few times.

I find it better to swallow all my pills at once. That's easiest for me. i always check to see if there are any precautions with pills etc.

@MsTickle Small amount at a time... He cuts his steak in small pieces... And I always remind him to chew properly not just swallowing things in whole or unchewed...

Some people can swallow a pill without drinking anything to push it down. I don’t have a problem with average sized ones but only with the larger pills

i hate it when a pill becomes stuck on the way down. It's very uncomfortable until it dissolves enough.

If I am not allowed to have water or something to drink then I swallow my pills without anything. I am lucky I can do that.
