Has the world gone crazy?

My heart goes out to all the victims of violence and families.
Is it just me, or does it seem like random acts of violence, where some crazy kills a bunch of people - is becoming a lot more common?
Here's just the ones I know about.
Las Vegas shooting - 10/1
Van mows down people on bike path in New York City - 10/31
Gunman opens fire in a Colorado Walmart - 11/1
Man shoots people at Church in Texas - 11/5
These are all US. And these are just the ones we've heard about. Who knows what is going on at a local level, or in other countries - things that don't make the news.
I find it interesting that in all of these cases there is, apparently, no motive.
I don't know what to say.
I'll let Beck say it.

Precisely. Many of the school shootings and plots that were stopped had the perpetrators wanting to (by their own admission) "do a Columbine." The media has used the shooter's name ten thousand times and we know what he ate for breakfast on his 17th birthday. We know nothing about the victims. What does that tell a mentally unstable person looking for fame (or infamy)?

@FourWalls It is true. -- For example -- There is a graphic novel out and a recently made movie about serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer (his teen years - before he did his crimes)
Now, I will admit I plan to go to the movie and I was a fan of the graphic novel.
However... what about his victims. I wish there would be some media on what those people were like and their lives.

It's true... what an odd and delicate line to balance. To inform, but not to inspire

It is scary and sad to think that each time I or my loved ones leave the house now, I pray that I and they make it back home alive.

I'm sorry to hear that South Africa is having these issues too. Hopefully things will calm.
On a local level - 2 years ago - in this area of Minnesota there were a lot of crimes happening, stabbings and shootings.
Eventually it tapered off.
I hope the same will happen, things will settle down ...

Yes, the world seems crazy! People need lots of comfort.. I like to go to jw.org.. I learn about what God's plan for the future is and how he is going to save those who want to do good things to others.. There are nice people too.. This site is published in hundreds of languages, so it should give comfort to everyone..

It's true - it's the negative we hear about because it's what makes the news.... there are still decent people and there is still goodness in the world.

I would say that the world has always been crazy but we hear more of the craziness these days and it is going from 'bad to worse' if I can borrow a description from a Bible prophecy describing mankind in the 'last days'. The way I see things is that what we have seen will be compared to a picnic in comparison to what's coming.

That is very true and very sad. In this area a few years ago there were a lot of stabbings, shootings - locally. Happily that seems to have tapered off. I hope the same will happen

That's true too, maybe they are psychopaths.
I agree - no "reason" would make it right. But one would think that they would at least have some kind of reasoning for committing such horrid acts

To my understanding this Church shooting was a domestic violence case, because he could not see his children. My feeling are, why hurt other people not involved? That was between that family and not the little children he hurt or killed. This is happening becuse the human mind can handle no more, they snap.

@fishtiger58 True that... cool idea - but it is a lot of hard physical labor. Maybe you could do a version of it - some modern conveniences? That's sort of how I grew up.

@kobesbuddy So crazy! Apparently one report I read said he was angry because he wasn't allowed to see his children. So go kill other people's children?

I wish I knew it... I guess the Texas Church shooting - he was angry at his inlaws, and his inlaws went to that church, but they weren't there that day. Why shoot up a bunch of people at the church your inlaws go to? (I mean... don't go shoot up your inlaws, either.... but....)
