My wife and starting of winters have something linked as she gets ill whenever winter starts every year Now also she is on medication as she is suffering from cold and cough and have a light fever with the body pain. She did vomit yesterday and had an unbearable head ache. Every year this happens . She takes lots of precautions when winter comes but still the result is the same. The same has started with my daughter also. May be the genes have transferred to her. I don't know what to do as I can't see them lying in bed in pain. Can you tell me something so that it may not happen in future again? Pic is of me and my family

Our body's reaction to weather, environment, pollution etc may vary from person to person but I can tell you why I haven't had a cold in 13 years. I changed my diet to what I would call - very healthy eating, and I make sure I get lots of vitamin C. Right now I could be in a roomful of sneezing people and I won't catch what they have. In short - building a strong immune system is key.

Yes doctor has given some medicines to improve immune system of my daughter but may they have very gradual affect . She is taking them but I don't think it has an effect on her. Vitamin C is always helpful in cold , need to start for her and my wife.

@sjvg1976 Yes, you should start long before winter comes. Remember vitamin c is not stored in the body - so it must be taken everyday. You can take it in tablet form or through fruits and vegetables - like oranges, lemons, cantaloupe, cherries, guava or bell peppers.

@Kandae11 I will start giving them the tablets of vitamin C as they don't like oranges, guava and many other things which contains it.

As they both seem to have this problem every year why not to have the flu shot?

I will ask about it from the doctor next time I visit him. Can it be given to both?

@sjvg1976 If they both have the problem I suggest to ask the doctor if it would be better to give to both of them.

I don`t know if this will work on you but I suggest that you go see a doctor before winter comes so they can give you some recommendations on how you can prevent those sickness My husband make sure that we had our medical check up so we can adjust to changes but of course not totally positive but atleast not worst

@m_audrey6788 that's what every one should do . It's not good to repent afterwards.

That may help . It's better to take precautions than to get ill and take medicines afterwards.

Yes . She tries not to get exposed to cold weather but you know one cannot avoid it fully.

Your family may have to migrate to a warmer area? Could it be done?

I am sorry to hear that. I think they keep warm when the weather changes? Sometimes people are careless to it.

I hope she relaxes and rest with medication. She can't work with problems on her own health.
