Twenty years ago seems like yesterday to many of us. Some of you were just kids then. 1997 is when the “Big One” was launched: “Titanic.” To say “Titanic” was a box office bonanza is an understatement. The world caught “Titanic” fever resulting in it becoming the first billion dollar movie. There were other big moneymakers in 1997.
“Tomorrow Never Dies” $124,690,000: Remember when Pierce Brosnan played James Bond? This was his best 007.
“My Best Friend’s Wedding” $126,710,000: Julia Roberts and Cameron Diaz were once box office stars and romcoms made money.
“Star Wars” $138,200,000: The 20th anniversary reissue surprised with huge box office.
“Good Will Hunting” $138,420,000: The movie made Matt Damon and Ben Affleck major names and earned Robin Williams an Oscar.
“As Good As It Gets” $147,660,000: Jack Nicholson in peak form winning another Oscar.
“Air Force One” $172,630,000: Harrison Ford as the first action hero president.
“Liar Liar” $181,420,000: Once upon a time Jim Carrey was box office gold.
“The Lost World: Jurassic Park” $229,100,000: The Steven Spielberg sequel again proved dino power.
“Men in Black” $250,000,000: You all saw this one.
“Titanic”
There were six other movies crossing the $100 million mark: “Face/Off,” “Batman and Robin,” “George of the Jungle,” “Con Air,” “Contact” and “Scream 2.”
How many have you seen?

@lovebuglena It was mediocre. Nothing special. A rehash as there have been previous Titanic movies.

I am not sure if I've seen all the movies in your list, though the titles seem familiar.

I've seen a few of them. I do like Goldeneye best of the Brosnan era.
