When you hit 30

I just turned 30 last November 11.
We always give thanks for an added year in our life during birthdays.
Sometimes we prepare food and party.
Sometimes we spend plenty to travel and dine out.
Sometimes we spend days by the beach.
I enjoyed most of it, but this year I made sure it will be different.
When you hit 30, things change.
I said "I'm not getting any younger".
I now have kids that partying and drinking is not convenient anymore.
I now have a full time job that traveling and spending days in the beach will not sit in my schedule.
I now have RESPONSIBILITIES and BILLS TO PAY (caps to intensify!) that spending plenty is not practical.
And so last November 11 I went to church, lit a candle to give thanks.
Cooked dinner and had it with my family.
It was simple, more thoughtful and less complicated.

@TheInvisibleMan that number 30 right there comes with a lot of responsibilities.

Belated happy birthday! I have also hit the 30's and I know what you mean about having more responsibilities. But it is okay, we grow, we mature, we improve. And despite these responsibilities, we cannot forego any chance to enjoy ourselves once in a while. Just to keep our sanity, I would say

@AllforHim I hear you! Knowing that all my bills are paid for the month keeps me calm and thankful.
