That is such a good idea. moving is a really hard job. you don't realize how much you accumulate in one house until you move. the last time I moved was 7 years ago and it took an entire weekend. That was my separation. Divorce is final for a long time now. It was just me and the kids moving. a few family members helped. It was really hard and took so long to get everything in place. especially if you work full time and have kids it is exhausting but at least once it is done you feel accomplished. I try to clean out my kids closets every season so I don't have so much to do at one time. only problem is mine gets neglected.. oh there never seems to be enough hours in a day.

I started getting rid of things when I was only thinking of moving. And I still had too much stuff when I did move.

@ricki_911 Well, I'lll tell ya... I had my friend rent a 13' cargo van the week before the big move and we packed it full, then on the final moving day, the movers came at 9am and started moving the furniture. I had packed my friend's car the night before but still managed to cram some more stuff into it. By the time everything was unloaded here it was 5pm! A full day for two strong men and my friend and me. If someone offeres to help you move, take them up on it!

i have a habbit of buying extra bedding and food fot the rabbits and cats. So iam using it up now (some i bouggt then didn't like). So i went through it and will use it up now then buy what i usually do.
It doesn't feel like i have a lot but it still feela like i have crap .
I will be moving nyself with my car. Beaides my bed, hegehog cage, and dresser, etc. I will pack the smaller items.
I also have things at my parents in the shed. So iam sort now here. Some items a friens gave me or recently dropped off. I haven't had time over the summer when she brouggt them.

I've been lazy this past few days, starting one chore per day after another. But yesterday I was able to get my grip together and took out the trash.

So where are you moving to. A bigger place? Getting rid of things a little at a time is good.

@ricki_911 Are you buying your own place? It costs a lot to move. We found that out when we moved.

That's nice you're able to start early on and prepare your things little by little, so come 2018 you'll be ready to move in no time, you won't be rushing.
