Hello, everyone. Recently I just find a part time job as an English teacher. But I just feel confused about my English name. I have used many name before. Such as Zoe, Jessica, Monica... They are just too common. Could you give me some advices about my new English name? Thanks a lot.
Hope you have a nice day!

Hmm... you can choose any English name you like?
Well, if you want a really unique one, maybe we can start with... what is your (non-English) name, anyway? I don't mean write it down using your language's characters, I mean phonetically, how would your real name be spelled?
For instance, what is Miya? Is that your real name? Or close to it, by any chance?
Also, if your real name has any meaning, what is it? Maybe you can go from there.

@121266lulu I see.
Not sure about Lulu being used as pet names but... people are weird. I'm sure they'd name their pets Charlie if they wanted to, even though Charlie is probably a good name for humans. Haha!
Anyway, some parents here (though I am not from the 'western world') combine their their names to give their children. That usually results in unique names, if you're wanting a unique name. For instance, I have a friend whose name is Florglen, from her father's Flor... something, and her mother's Glenda.

I agree with Arthur here @arthurchappell, you name is fine, I don't see why you think that you need an English name.

Hmmm if most names remind you of some famous or infamous people why not try the short versions of those names. Much like Liz for Elizabeth, Jessie for Jessica, Mich for Michelle something like those lines. But come to think of it, Miya or Lulu are both fine and nice names. Just don't think how it is used in some other countries and I'm sure you will do fine. The reason for this is because somewhere in the world, it's always going to mean something else besides what you want. So try not to think about it and just be your simple and nice self. :)

The English spelling of your name is Maya and that is a good name or maybe a simple one like Anne or Anna.

In the end, what name did you use? Yes, the name Lulu is often used for well-loved pets in some countries. (My old pet was a Lulu .) Other than that, the name Lulu is quite western and was quite popular since the early 20th century. It is a lovely name.
You could combine your surname with Lulu, to make it into another unique and very beautiful names, eg, Luludee, JanLulu, etc. (The western world loves any unique name. It is fashionable these days to have some names that very few people have it.)

Go to a name site online, and maybe you could find something you like on there. I like the name you have--Miya. It sounds somewhat English to me.
