It is possible for love to diminish over time.
We as humans change over time... a lot of times it happens that two people fall in love and over time and experiences change as people....which means they are no longer the same two people who fell in love.
So they fall out of it.

Or maybe, loving at first can't be felt at the last. Like riding in a plane that when you are on-going acceleration, you really feels what it's like. But when the plane is on stable state, or moving on constant speed, it feels not moving at all.
Really hard to assess, cause it can be vice versa. You think you're loving but really you're not, and you wake up in it.

We can be hurt and be angry, but we can never truly stop loving someone.
