“Filipinos don’t have nose”

My friend works as an OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker) in Dubai. Upon her arrival at her workplace, her coworker asked what her nationality is. My friend proudly answered ‘I’m from the Philippines’. The Ethiopian coworker was surprised and remarked ‘I thought you’re from Indonesia.’ My friend, out of curiosity, asked why. Her coworker said, ‘Because Filipinos don’t have nose.’ Ouch. Lol Photo is my friend’s look alike. ;)

I never noticed that Filipinos had usually the same nose than a Persian cat. It is certainly not the case of your friend.

if your friend looks like marian rivera in the picture (an actress who is mestiza because her father is spanish) then her surprise was probably double. i do remember my mother talking about a relative who worked in europe back when there were still very few ofws and people there were always curious about her nose that seems to lack a bridge.

@cahaya1983 yes, exactly. she wouldn't represent the average filipino, either, because she's the opposite (mestiza). i know channel 2 exports their television series to other asian countries. sometimes they change the title, but i don't know if they dub it in english or the local language.

@m_audrey6788 generally speaking, yeah. And historical-wise, our ancestors are from the ancient pygmy tribes Aeta. So there. :)

That was a dumb comment by that person. I never noticed anything different about a Filipino's nose.

it's funny how other countries don't have a clue about Filipinos. When in fact there's no difference between Indonesians and Filipinos.

May be she did not master the language well and only intended to say that Filipinos have a very small nose, while the girl in this photo has a normal size nose.
