Baby it's cold outside. Temp is 21 F with a 9 F wind chill. A couple days ago we were in the 50's. That's a huge nose dive, and though I love winter, my body isn't ready for that kind of immediate plunge.
My appointment at the hospital was for 9 AM. However, I didn't get into the infusion room until almost 9:30. The nurse I usually see was on vacation and the nurse I had this time, I really didn't like. I have super small veins, so you need to use a baby needle on me, anything more than that simply won't work. However, she being the nurse, new better than me. I was told many years ago by another nurse, during a week long hospital stay, that I was to tell future nurses to use the baby needle. She tried to use the one size larger, and of course, it didn't work for her. I told her it wouldn't in an I told you so manner. She also had to call a SWAT nurse to get it taken care of. They also need to run a vein finder across my arms in order to find the lucky one they will draw from. My annual lab work was also due - oh joy - So she proceeded to use the correct needle and really let me have it. I know I'll bruise bad from her attack on my veins. I hate needles, but usually they try to be as gentle as possible. Not this nurse. It really hurt. So they got their vials of blood from me, and then finally proceeded with the medication, only over an hour later than my appointment time. It was 12:30 by the time it finally finished and I could leave there.
With the brunch on Saturday, and the fact that I need to eat before then, I needed to pick up more potatoes and eggs so I would have enough. Tomorrow after swimming, I'll pick up the water, as I suspect people will be drinking a lot of water on Saturday. My only options are tea, coffee, and water. I know there are a lot of coffee drinkers among the ladies. However, if they drink a lot of water, I need some for me for after they leave.
Now, I'm home and ready to interact with you. I hope your day has gone better than mine. Thanks for reading.

Ouch! I can feel the pain through the words as I too hate needles. Hope you don't bruise too much.

I hate that. I have had to tell nurses that before and they don't listen. I'll tell them if they use the butterfly needle they'll have no trouble. But they use a regular about five times before they give in and get a butterfly to go through my wrist.

That's quite balmy. Doing my best to stay warm. I just got warmed up for the first time today and it's almost time to go to bed and turn down the thermostat for the night.

Winters have started here also. It's cold in the morning and night here.
I am never scared of these needles and never cried when they inject it and take out blood samples from my vein. In fact my wife and daughter cry a lot when they have to give the samples once in a while when they get ill. I can understand how you might have been feeling by the behavior of this new nurse.

Yes, it has, and I'm very happy it has. I could use a few more inches of snow.

Maybe she will next time, if I happen to have her again, which I hope I won't.

I've never had a doctor give me the needle. Always a nurse. I hope my regular nurse is back next time.

It's colder there than here but we had a pretty cold day today too and it's going to get colder overnight.
I have small veins too and have to use those baby needles but I come across a nurse who won't listen and I wind up with big bruises.
Hope you have a great party on Saturday!!

Two days ago, my mum and I had gone to our relatives, northern part of where we live. We traveled for 3 hours. It was a family gathering, too. Early this morning, I traveled again for 3 hours going back home.
You know, I love travelling a lot and sometimes, alone.
