Everything Is Online?

I purchased a board game from a charity shop the other day. It was 'Mouse Trap' as I remembered playing it as a kid. It used to be great fun and I thought I could play it with some of my younger family members who I am visiting over Christmas. It then occurred to me that perhaps board games are 'old fashioned'. Many games seem to have a digital equivalent now. Do people still play real board games or does everyone play online games?

We have a game of Battleship but that is available online now as a game. We have taken to playing board games again now so I don't think they are old hat at all. Our son plays them all the time with his wife and friends.

@redurnet Games seem to be having a resurgence of popularity. Our son in Ireland has a heap of games and introduced us to a lot. We bought Ticket to Ride when we got home and now play it pretty regularly.

I used to love battleship. I do think playing board games are still so much fun and they tend to make you all gather around together and see one another instead of staring at a TV or computer screen.

I haven't played board games in a long time, but I would still like to play and I think it's a great activity during family gatherings.

That is interesting to know. I wonder if some children feel board games are old fashioned.

I loved mouse trap and played it lots when I was young and when my kids were younger. Have you seen the New Monopoly one, it just cards and not the Board Game, My oldest had it for Birthday at the beginning of the month, it's awesome as it only takes about 20-60 minutes per game to play. I know he was saying he's and friends at Uni have played it a lot since getting back there. It's kinda hard to explain how it works as it took me a few game to fully understand it.

We still have board games in the house. It is the most ideal to use when playing with the family members. I don't play computer games but I prefer mobile app games instead.

@redurnet I hope you are not having vertigo of some kind. I do play mobile apps if I am alone in the house. Regardless, I prefer being in mylot and be productive as much as possible.

I have played some mobile app games. I have a strange problem with anything where the screen moves, though. I get terrible motion sickness which is strange.

I've been wanting to buy MouseTrap but its expensive! At least the older versions are. I loved setting up that crazy board and seeing how the marble would roll.

@redurnet I looked on ebay. Not cheap. I like the older ones cause there seemed to be more interesting parts, like the crazy bathtub.

So true, I really wanted Mouse Trap but when I checked the price of it when bought new I thought it was much too expensive so I started looking around in charity stores for one. Luckily I managed to find one.

My kids don't play them with me very often anymore but I have always loved playing them. Pay day, pizza party and monopoly Jr were always my favorites as a kid. I still have my monopoly jr game and my kids and I play it sometimes.
