I am Turning into a Hermit

I am born and raised in Connecticut. I have dealt with cold and snow all my life. Somehow that doesn't seem to help. We are having a cold snap and we got 3 more inches of snow overnight and I haven't gotten dressed in two days!!~ That's right, two days. I have been sitting in a warm room with my heavy jammies on and just been hibernating. I haven't exercised once this week and I am not at all sure I am going to go out tomorrow. On the upside, I have done all the laundry, made a delicious bread pudding and bagged up some of our Christmas gifts. Now I remember why we bought the house in Florida, I don't like the cold, I love my kids and grandkids but I hate the cold. We have less than 3 weeks until we leave for 3 months, needless to say, I can't wait to leave.

I can see why you'd want to leave. I'm so glad it rarely gets that cold here, it's cold alright, just not that cold.

Yeah, I would imagine being cold is worse than being hot @BelleStarr somehow the heat doesn't seem as bad.

I do not like the cold either. We had only a few inches of snow, yesterday it was a sunny day and it has almost completely melted.

We have had more snow in the meantime and even snow flurries. It looks like we might be in for a snowy winter.

@BelleStarr No more snow here, but very cold, the snow on the ground does not melt, it turns into ice.

@MALUSE We lived in Monte-Carlo and we decided to move to Switzerland because we had enough of the crowd and noise. Sicily is surely not a place where we would live.

I went out to see Josh play hockey yesterday, it was even colder at the ice rink and then to church today. When are you leaving?

You must be really looking forward to leave. I loved snow, but really didn't like the cold or the icy roads.

Oh I feel your pain. Last year drove me totally mad and bonkers. Every day hubby had to go to work. Thank God we had a lady staying with us who could drive in deep crap. Eighty days of snow and ice. Did not let up for eighty days. I longed to stay in my jammies and hide. BUT we need hubby's job so somebody had to shove out into the nightmare. This year, well, its really not winter yet but its been blessedly milder.....

Maybe it's getting to a certain age where the cold just gets to us more- plus it's treacherous at times to walk about outside, let alone drive. I get your plight and am on the same page. In my mind, all people our ages should be shipped to a warm climate each Fall---ha!

I agree I wonder if we can get it to be mandated? You have a better chance than me, our Congress can't get out of its own way let alone pass anything. lol

When I first get up, I wash, then get dressed. The reason for this, if I didn't do it first of all, I'd never get dressed! LOL My first concern in the winter is staying warm enough and comfortable, just like 'Ben the Bear!' I eat some food, then go back into a warm state of hibernation
