Your Christmas Celebration Menu

Does anyone else approach the holiday with families as "potluck" style? Or who handles the cooking? To me it only feels fair that those that host (and deal with the mess) do not have to also do all the cooking as well. Plus limited oven space can cause issues too. I havent decided yet what I will bring. I am the vegetarian of the bunch. So I might make a creative salad of some sort and buy a pie or something extra. I know we will have some type of ham and potato dish per usual. What about you? What is on your menu for Christmas? And are you growing tited of Christnas related discussions? (Not I!!)

We usually order Chinese food for Christmas these days, while leaving Thanksgiving for the big cooking day.

It will be my mom and sister who will cook. I'll do the washing of the dishes.

for our family... we are always the host... so we prepare everything... our family loves to eat and as well to cook for family and friends... we typically cook traditional Filipino food like menudo, chicken asado, pancit, pork bbq and more... we are so excited...it's like a reunion very christmas... all family are together... very happy!

We do it potluck style as well. I’m the vegetarian in the family of meat eaters. I usually bring potatoes and a dessert. Tomorrow my kids and I are going to an annual family Christmas party. I’m bringing mint chocolate chip cupcakes.

Haven’t decided a menu yet. But any warm home made food that my wife makes would do be great.

We all pitch in. My daughters like to do the meat like ham and turkey and my son likes to make special potato and chopped salad dishes. My daughter-in-law likes to bake pies. I usually make a homemade pecan or other type of pie. Occasionally, I make roasted sweet potato chunks.

I like that idea and it only feels fair to lessen some of that burden on the one hosting

@maezee We all discussed this year's menu and that morning my daughter will cook her traditional big breakfast and that night my son will BBQ ribs, chicken and Tri-tip. My daughter-in-law will do potato salad and I will make pies and a salad. We decided to mix it up this year and be different.
