I think swimming is great exercise following an injury. The water supports while you exercise. It's worth a try, perhaps under some sort of supervision.

Yes, we have met about that pain haven't we. Yes, swimming will be good exercise for your back. Obviously do not overdo it. But gentle swimming up and down several lengths will train most of the major muscle groups in the belly and the back. Often back problems are not helped by the fact that a lot of people (including myself) do not have very strong abdominal muscles. You might also like to try Pilates. A good Pilates teacher will take into account your back problem, and will teach you how to achieve core stability, which for people like us is important in order not to have such bad back problems. Good luck anyway :)

yes, i have heard that it is good for your back.
The reason is that it is low-impact exercise.
Most exercise puts some stress on the back but the water bouys the body and there is less stress.
Most ymcas have programs for people, water exercises or something.

Yes I believe swimming will be good for your back pains. I have scoliosis and my doctor recommended me to continue swimming.
