Yesterday my father in law had us down for pizza. We usually get together on Christmas Eve but my brother in laws girlfriend wanted us to wait until she was able to attend as well. There was a mix up and they didn’t make it anyway.
We got gifts from my father in law and his wife as well as presents were dropped off there from my brother in law and his girlfriend... and my brother in laws ex. We all got some really nice gifts.
I got some very bad news that my father in laws cancer is back.
Back in 2011 a few months after my husband died his father started feeling awful and running a fever every night. He was diagnosed with liver cancer. He had surgery and chemo and was cancer free since then.
I am so sad hearing this news but I am thankful they caught it early as he was in for routine tests and looks great and has no symptoms.
The photo is of the napkin my daughter got last night at dinner. I thought it was ironic as she was traveling to Myrtle Beach today. My napkin was a joke showing pigs flying.

He had the cancer in his liver last time and somewhere else they couldn't find where it was coming from. My mother in law thinks since that spot where ever it was wasn't removed that is likely where the cancer is. I always worried though he would get sick again because he didn't change his diet or stop drinking after his last bout of cancer.

@shaggin Oh, my. I truly hope the doctors can pinpoint exactly where that killer is and get rid of it. If so, perhaps your FIL will make a change in his lifestyle. He probably felt invincible before. So sorry for him and all that love him.

I thought with her traveling 16 hours within the next 8 hours after getting this napkin that it was very fitting and ironic.

I am sorry to hear that your father in law's cancer has returned, Shaggin. I am quite sure that was very upsetting to everyone...
Hmmm... I wonder what you said that made fate hand you the paper towel with pigs flying on it?

I’m so glad he went for routine tests every year so they were able to catch this before it spread. He should be starting chemo very soon.

I'm so sorry this has happened to him. He sounds like a very nice man, and this isn't fair.
