IT CAME AND WENT TOO QUICKLY.

After all the anticipation and preparation - Christmas came and left without even saying goodbye! I look around and I say - "where did it go?"
Of course, it did leave behind a trail of gifts, wrapping paper and empty boxes, left overs in the fridge and festive decorations - but for me it all came and went too fast. Even the local radio stations ceased all Christmas music from 1 a.m. Boxing Day morning - after a very late start in December.
Soon as the new year is ushered in , plans for carnival 2018 will be in full gear- it is held soon after Easter - and not quite my cup of tea.
Then before you know it , the long hot summer is here along with the threat of hurricanes.
Have you noticed how fast time is flying? And do you miss Christmas already - or happy to see the back of it? I think I will leave my decorations up a bit longer this time around. When do you plan to take yours down?

Time is going SO fast! This year I took my decorations down early, I needed the space back and I wanted my house clean and uncluttered. Plus, the landlord is doing another inspection this week so I wanted everything put away and looking tidy. I do miss Christmas though!

@Kandae11 Carnival is not only in Switzerland, it is in all European countries. One of the most famous is in Italy, in Venice. As it is pretty long to explain what it is, here is a link to know more

@Kandae11 Hey..you can't eat cake more than cleaning up the house pulling out all winter clothes and all that...no ice creams obviously..in summers that can be good source of calories, but since all these come festivities come so late, no ice creams and that in itself is huge calories reduction.

I still have the morning after the night before feeling although I never stay late. (lol) It was hectic and in my case it has left behind happy memories that I will cherish for a long time. My party was amazingly successful.

There is such a big build up to Christmas and then it just comes and goes so quickly. I leave my decorations up until January 6th.

I only did the outside this year, and because today is the last warm day we will have for a while I will likely take it all down today. I usually wait until January 6 as that is the twelfth day of Christmas. I was so sick from Thanksgiving on that I really did not get into the season.

@arthurchappell You think so? I believe that we slow down as we get older and that we have more time on our hands. Even though the clock is ticking for our life on this earth.

This year went way too fast, and Christmas came and went too fast as well. I put up my tree and all my decorations right after Thanksgiving, and it seems to me like they haven't even been up a week yet. I'm taking my kids to Disney World this weekend to celebrate New Years, and thankfully Disney will still have all their Christmas decorations up, so it will still feel like Christmas for at least a couple of more days!

@Kandae11 I had so much fun at Disney World! What a great ending to 2017 and great start to 2018! The family and I just got home about an hour ago, and I am wiped out from such a fun time! And thank goodness we came home today...it was pouring down rain and freezing cold at Disney today! We were blessed with such great weather the whole week we were down there!
