Hello mylotters Family and Newbies! Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening! The year of 2017 is closely to end and most of us might be thinking of what they will be preparing in welcoming 2018 Me and my husband will be preparing a simple dinner meal a mixed vegetable rice, grilled chicken, salad, some chocolates for desserts and softdrinks since no guests or visitors to be celebrating with us Those who might have some guests or visitors on New Years, Do you prepare the food or let some catering have it done for you? I`m wondering what type of food that mylotters are thinking to have in welcoming 2018 and I hope you`ll share it with me here Philippine usually prepares food similar to the photo here Advance Happy New Year to all! We are not expecting guests this New Years Eve, but if any friends or family drop by, there is enough Christmas fare left in the fridge.

We are having a few people for a barbecue on New Year's Eve. We have pork chops, some marinated steak and sausages. There will also be four different salads then a big cheesecake and small, individual pavlovas for dessert. It should be a lot of fun.

When New Years arrives, we usually use the slow-cooker, to make a sausage/cheese dip. This is eaten with the extra large nacho chips for dipping, used as a scoop. For drinks we always have our own favorite beverage, diet coke, ginger ale, or plain ole bottled water. We don't get company very often, but if we do it's even more fun!

Usually we go to my father in laws on New Years Eve but he didn't have a party this year. I stayed home with my kids and boyfriend and made tacos for dinner if I recall correctly and macaroni and cheese for me. New Year's Day we usually go to my parents for dinner but they had just gotten in from a trip the night before and no one had anything prepared.

If I am at home I prefer home cooked food. Its anyday better than the caterers. I avoid going out to dinner on New Years eve because all restaurants are crowded.

When I lived at home with my family, we always made a lot of food to snack on on New Year's Eve. Some years I go to my parents' house to celebrate and enjoy their food, but most years I stay home. We usually order a pizza or something so I don't have to cook.
