Changing Our Plans

Hi folks, well I should be able to be on here a lot today since we have changed our plans. After careful consideration, we have decided to stay put in Mooresville for two additional nights. The roads in South Carolina and Georgia are bad and we decided that since time is something we have plenty of, we would just stay put until the snow and ice have melted. Warmer weather is coming and it is just a matter of letting mother nature take care of it.
Both hotels were great about letting us change our reservations with no additional charges and the same rates. So, I just toasted us some bagels and we had our cup of coffee and now I am catching up with all of you.

We are anxious to get home to our house in Florida which is why we waited so long to make this decision but it seems to be the wisest thing to do.

@BelleStarr I understand - and staying in a hotel would be added costs.

I just talked to my grandson who is staying at our house, it is a blizzard. I think we will go out at some point and see what there is to do here. Have a good day at work.

That was a freak snow storm, usually they do not get snow that far south.
Stay warm and safe.

Last year we were racing ahead of the storm that hit Atlanta, I think we are just going to have to start leaving a little earlier.

It is actually lovely where we are staying, sunny but cold. We just didn't want to drive through the areas ravaged by yesterday's ice and snow.

You're smart to stay put until the weather gets better. I see the roads are horrible and lots of accidents.

Yes and unfortunately people in those areas mostly don't know how to drive in the bad weather. I want to get home but I would rather not be stressed out.

There are loads of accidents icy roads as you know are terrible and the people here have little or no experience with this kind of weather.

@BelleStarr The last time we had icy roads, a snowplow could not get a grip on the surface and smacked into a couple of parked cars. Another person could not stop their car and hit a state patrol car and a cop did the same to another parked car. Just could not stop.

Yes we decided it was not worth it to try to drive with a bunch of other drivers who are not used to driving under these conditions.

Yes that is what we figured, they are so not prepared to deal with this in Savannah and Charleston.
