What do you do with an answer that has nothing to do with your post?

Once in a while, I get an answer that can only mean that the post was not read or that it was not understood at all.
I have lately decided not like those answers, much less comment them. I cannot treat those answers the same way I treat the answers that mean they want to relate to me.
What do you do?

I have had the occasional response that was posted on the wrong discussion, although I cannot imagine how that was achieved. In those cases I have relied as normal and mentioned the error.
As for totally unrelated responses, I would reply with a question mark.

@marguicha No because there would be nothing to justify a Like.

Yes, I think we have all had that at times. It isn't surprising because some people on here don't have a firm grasp of English,,other times people take one small segment of the post and comment on it..which is a bit annoying,,but it is what it is..some comments I just don't respond to.

I have learned to ignore them. There was a time when I would comment and ask what they meant exactly or sometimes I would say, "I think you haven't read what I've written."
But I think the best thing to do is just ignore them.

I used to do that. But discovered that it did not serve any purpose.

@toniganzon Some people have even told me to delete the answer.

@marguicha And you are right about that. When we do comment on their response, these users, don't actually care. So it's best we ignore them.

@LadyDuck Maybe we should. The site would improve if we get rid of those people.

@marguicha Sometimes I even delete the comment if it's clearly a copy/paste comment.

@marguicha I think that the best should be to delete the comments, no likes and no reply back.

@DianneN Normally you can distinguish a problem with the language from a lack of interest.

@marguicha I agree, but it's usually, not always, from those who struggle with the English language. Those who do leave two word answers are just crass.

I will not like them anymore, let alone explain anything.

If it has nothing to do with your post just ignore it. Not sure if there is an option to delete a comment.
Sometimes, I find that the person either just reads the title and comments based on that or just leaves a comment for the sake of leaving one.
Someone responded to one of my discussions with a question to which the answer should have been obvious had they bothered to read the actual discussion.

@marguicha If I am in this discussion I can delete your comment or my response but I cannot delete anyone else's comments or responses. But I am assuming if I am in my own discussions I can delete anything from anyone if I wanted to.

You can usually tell the difference someone didn't read the post and is just looking for a place to draw attention to themselves and when someone read but really didn't understand your point. I usually respond to the latter, maybe with more explanation, but not to the person who didn't read. They are just trying to get attention at your expense.

And those, many times, are newbies who think this is a site to get rich.

It hasn't happen in my discussions yet, but I surely will have those type comments too sooner or later. I think you did the right thing, just ignore It.

There are many posts that I don´t understand or that don´t appeal to me. It is absurd to comment in those cases.
