Good afternoon.I am being held hostage by the extreme cold weather
This morning while Mike was out food shopping I made a pound cake
Remember in the earlier days how I love this
I got the recipe online
put this in a loaf pan and baked it.Our in one hour or less.
then cool on the rack. After cooling sliced the cake in half.
Smother with home raspberry jam.
Sprinkle confectioner sugar around it.
We will have this tonight.
Now why is this called a Pound Cake?
the photo is mine. The pound cake

Tonight you would have it tonight???? Not if I were there it would be a figment of your imagination by now! Its called a pound cake because the tin you cook it in takes a pound of mixture and once baked it is delicious especially with Jam!

It looks good. I read somewhere that once upon a time a pound of ingredients went into making it.
