My last night shift... bring it on!

I am ready to leave the 3rd shift in the past. Tonight is my last night working my quasi night shift (830pm to 0430am). I am excited to move - starting tomorrow to a middle shift of 230pm to 1030pm. Occasionally there will be overtimr that forc3s me to start early or stay late, but I am happy to put the "7am bedtimes" to rest!
It will be a little bit of a rough one for me today and tomorrow. I will likely work late (630am) and then have to be back punched in by 230pm. At most will allow me time for 5 hours of sleep
But after that it should be easy. Hopefully.
Leaving night shift will be bittersweet for me. I like the coworkers on night shift and I like having my early evenings free. But middle shift will be nice to be awake in the mornings, do my errand runnings during the day and sleep when its dark out.
Any changes in your schedule? Hope everyone is having a fabulous Saturday!

I understand. I was one very happy camper when I left nights and went to the afternoon/evening shift back in my post office days.

@maezee — I have no idea of what being “normal” is like.
I work part time now, so it’s even better: I get off at noon!

That will be so much better for you do get off of the graveyard shift!
I'm a teacher so my schedule never changes. I like it that way. I did weekends and nights and doubles back in high school and college and I'm so OVER that. I like having a set schedule that never changes.

That is nice for sure. Weekends are so important! Especially if your spouse has a M thru F job as well. I find it difficult to see a lot of my friends on these weird shifts. I hope to eventually find a job that is in a more normal setting. I probably have to go back to school first. Hope youre having a good Saturday lady!

Nothing has changed in my schedule at all. I salute you for being able to endure night shifts. I just can't work in the evening at all. I love working during the day time and having a full night rest comfortably in bed.

@maezee Sometimes we are left with no choice. I'm glad I don't have a job that demands I work at night. It's just something I can't really stand but if I had no choice I think would adjust to it anyway.
Just glad to hear it'll be over soon.

Since my health prevents me from working outside the home, I sell from home or online. Trying to get things ready to have my garage more set up like a Store that I can sell from.

It is always a pros and cons ... but glad that you are very optimistic to changes. but maybe if you get used to the facts your body will not have difficulty changing over time of sleep and wake up.
Happy new year!

@maezee I'm glad you're getting the shift you want. I loved overnight, but I've heard it really messes with our health.
