“Do you HATE early morning COLD-CALL?”

Today, I was sleeping like a baby and trying to catch-up with my lack sleep of these past few days. It was the best moment to spend more time in my dreamland. I was pulled out from my dream when the mobile phone rang so early around 8:00 AM. I answered the call with my eyes shut and trying to wake me up full. OMG! It was ‘cold-call’ from a selling company. At that moment, I tried to control my ill-tempered behavior and politely ask to stop calling early in the morning. As usual, I informed the agent that I am not interested in their offers. At the end of the conversation, I managed to ask this person how did he get my mobile number. He replied back that it was being referred by somebody. That’s impossible and no one of my acquainted friends will do such a thing. Now, I am trying to compose myself and fixed a cup of hot coffee. With a consolation prize, I got a payment from myLot. It is a good day after all and tried to withdraw the money from PayPal to BPI bank account. This is my first time to use my BPI account instead of my Union Bank’s EON Card. “How do you handle a ‘cold-call’?” “Do you hang-up the call once hearing the customer service agent’s voice?” Image Credit: pixabay.com

I cannot answer the phone if it rings in the morning until after I have had my coffee. My voice will not work.

Uhmm I think it is also a good idea. I need to have a hot cup of coffee. It would be awakened myself before interacting with someone on the phone.

Their strange phone # appears in the window on my home phone. I don't want to speak with them, so I refuse to answer my phone. If they leave a message, I don't even listen and delete it.

I was planning to install my landline phone of caller ID so that I can able to determine who's the caller. With my mobile phone, I managed to block his number. It was a bad day when trying to have a nice sleep for the day.

Haha. It's annoying I can relate with that. In my case, I was in a meeting with my boss when my phone rang, I made an effort to go out of the room because I was thinking that it possibly be an emergency call and there.. a sales agent offering an additional line..

@Shavkat though I understand that they are just doing their job, but calling me always by various agent offering the same thing is stressful.

@cttolledo For the first timer call, I will make it clear that they don't need to call me again. If they keep on doing it, then the course of action is to file a formal complaint against them.

Sometimes we cannot control ourselves of not being irritated hearing such propositions from a sales agent. It can ruin our day if we cannot conceal our feelings about such concern.

I think I will do the same thing. Unluckily, I intentionally answered the call this morning. I blocked his number right after talking with him.

@JustBhem The agent was claiming that I won certain products. And I do think it is a scam.

I used to politely let them know that I had to run, another phone coming etc. (after telling them that I was not interested.)

I do think that it is not good to entertain such unregistered numbers on my phone book list. If it is really an urgent matter, then they can manage to send a message.

@Shavkat I fully agree and if they need to talk to me personally they would try again. If I do not receive a second call I block the number.

I don't answer numbers I don't recognize but the phone would wake me up anyway if I am sleeping. They can be so inconsiderate

It was so inconsiderate of them to do this act. But then, I managed to keep my coolness. I don't want to ruin my day because of it.

No, I'm really nice to them, as I know it's someone making $10/hour plus commissions. But I get off pretty quickly so I don't waste their time. I'm glad I don't have to do their job.

I hang up when it is somebody I do not want to talk to. I found it doesn't matter how many times I have told them not to call. I do not waste my time on them anymore.

I was so dozed off when answering the phone. If I am fully awake, I can able to decline the call just like the snap of a finger. I do also agree with you to know first the concern.

Now all these type of calls come with Possible Spam now when the phone rings. I feel they many times get the phone numbers via doing a search, etc. It can be annoying as many of them when you request to have their name removed and taken off the list, never do.

I had one encounter when asking the agent about how she gets the number and continued to disregard my question. I told her to stop or else I will file a formal complaint against them. Luckily, they stopped calling me.

I don't know what is a cold-call. Some nights I receive calls out of nowhere and it disrupts my sleep. I use EON card to withdraw my paypal money

That kind of thing happens more than I would like to admit. Sorry you lost good sleep time. I got a knock on our door last week in the middle of a good t.v. show and I had to shut the door on the man's face cause he was just plain rude trying to get me to switch my electric company. No way Hosey!

That's also an annoying moment to deal with. If I were him, he can just put any flyers or something on the door. If I were in that situation, I will be on the same hotness of anger.lol

There is one time that I had caught off guard an agent. She got my number from my previous internet service provider. I don't have any proof of this concern. Thus, I just let it go. Welcome to mylot!
