Since I have informed you about Mayon volcano’s eruption last January 13, I feel I have to update you of how it is now.
Last Friday, since it erupted 12 days ago, Mayon calmed down. Though, at night it still emits lavas but of minimal quantity. Some evacuees were permitted to go home.
But the day after that, it again erupted and since then, it is erupting at least every 4-6 hours. Evacuees near the danger zone were forcibly evacuated again.
Yesterday, I was able to take photos of her 3 eruptions, the first one at Legazpi City proper, the second is from our place of work and the third one is from a nearer place, where our high school batchmates is attending a wake for our deceased batchmate.
You can see that when it’s daylight, the lavas are not visible when she erupts. But take a look at the almost evening eruption, lavas can be clearly seen.
The rumblings of Mayon when it is erupting can now be heard from our house amongst other places. In fact, it was again rumbling and erupting at about 5:00 a.m. this morning.
We keep praying the eruptions will not get stronger. ![](/Content/images/emotes/surrender.gif)

my lady, as what you mentioned, you live far from the danger zone, but still, i wish you take necessary precautions for safety. i like the imge of the lava ash like a man and a woman hugging, and also the red lava coming out from its crater at night, as it is a tourist attraction, but i still wish that you prepare yourselves for possible evacuation once the eruption becomes more severe.

Yes, actually we are ready for the eventuality that it will erupt big time. We know where to go in case the lavas will be washed down from its slopes to towns surrounding it when it rains torrentially.
One cannot really predict what will happen when it is nature that is having its wrath.
Our most powerful weapon now is our fervent prayers, especially for the displaced people. It is hard to live in evacuation centers.

That's what we keep praying for. It's really so hard for the displaced people to evacuate and cannot make a living because they are out of the place where they can make a living.
Also, the ashes that hit the third district towns can really be health hazards.

Hello @SIMPLYD You know with this crisis with Mt Mayon, I decided to watch the documentary on Mt. Pinatubo. This Volcano took days before it finally exploded. Take precautions over there because you never know what's going to happen.

@FayeHazel It's like an airplane about to take off. And when it erupts it's so loud that you will be scared.

@Gita17112016 Yes, that is also what most people ask themselves. But we can understand because they are farmers and there they have abundant soil so their plants really thrive well.

@SIMPLYD If it is a threat or a potential threat, why do people still build their homes there? I mean I'll try and move as far away as I can.

Really! That is nice because the world is updated with what calamities are hitting countries around the world. It actually, stopped erupting for two days last Saturday and Sunday.
However, since yesterday, it again erupted 3 times again. Though, they're milder and we are praying it will stop soon.

@changjiangzhibin89 Yes, it has a high resolution indeed. Photos are so clear unlike the other phone's pictures. In fact, the photo taken from mine was even praised by my boss who took the same picture in her latest iPhone. ![](/Content/images/emotes/wink.gif)

@jaboUK Yes, thank you. For the past 3 days, Mayon has only erupted once a day, compared to 4 times a day. It is also milder now. I hope it will stop flowing out lava from its crater. It still has crater glow and lavas flowing down.
Some evacuees from outside of the 8 km danger zone were already made to go back to their houses.

@rakski Really, its ashes reached south of Manila. Actually, it's a wonderment that Pinatubo erupted when it was a dormant volcano for many many years.
At least, Mayon is always active, smoke and rumblings can be heard by the volcanologists even if it isn't erupting. So people are always alerted with levels. Like now its still at Alert level 4.

@SIMPLYD yes, I know that. The ashes of Mt. Pinatubo when it erupted was experienced even in the south of Manila. Hope that all will be well soon. My friend is Tiwi now from the US. I am not sure hoe far is their town from the actual area of Mayon.

Yes, very nice pictures indeed, so I want everyone here to see it. Beautiful but so dangerous, that's how the volcano is. We call her Daragang Magayon meaning Beautiful Lady.
It erupts every 4 hours. When it does, ashes falls in the third district towns because of the Easterly wind. But if the direction changes, we can have the ashes also.
We keep praying it will end soon.

@SIMPLYD Earthquakes are rare in North Carolina and a large one has not happened that we are aware of at this point. However, hurricanes, tornadoes, winter blizzards and more are here to keep us occupied!

That's what everyone is praying for. The displaced people are pitiful because they don't have enough toilets and baths in the evacuation center. Classes are suspended because some classrooms are being used as evacuation centers.

Yes, we cannot help worrying also for our fellow Albayanos, who were displaced and also experiencing the ashfall. It is hard to live in a crowded place with just a few toilets and baths.
We are ready for any eventuality of a major eruption. But we keep praying it will just be mild and that it will not be for long.
