Pudding cake or cobbler?

For years whenever I don't feel well, I "mother" myself and bake a pudding cake. Unfortunately, I'm the only one who likes it and I end up eating most of it myself. Recently I saw a recipe on FB for a Chocolate Cobbler. It looks almost identical to my recipe except the cake is chocolate and mine is white cake with a chocolate sauce. That Chocolate Cobbler is driving me insane with desire. But I know I'll end up eating the whole thing! This comes at a time when I need to lose about 4 or 5 pounds. So, to rationalize my intention to bake and eat that sugar and fat laden thing, I'm not eating any sweets for three days. Then I plan to make that cobbler and eat (almost) all I want of it. Trouble is, I don't eat that many sweets as it is, so cutting them out for three days probably won't balance the sugar I'll consume from the cobbler. If I really use some self-control, I'll try to take some to my uncle before I eat it all. If I believed in luck, I'd ask y'all to wish me some.

It wouldn't be so bad if I could limit the amount I eat. But it's just so tempting!

Divide it in portions and have a small piece every day. After eating, you drink lots of water to dilute the sugar effect.

If I can freeze some of it, I might try that. Does water really help with the sugar?

@1creekgirl I can't really make a recommendation but I heard it from a friend who says the 'reaction' she got after eating sweet things stopped after she started drinking lots of water immediately afterwards - so I do that whenever I indulge myself in guilty pleasures - just in case.

If you don't indulge yourself, who will indulge you? Be happy and proud that you can make things to delight your taste buds and celebrate that with a chocolate cobbler.

If it's as good as my regular pudding cake, it will be scrumptious.

Good luck with that..I have a cake here.I had to put it in the freezer..It was defintely causing me to eat too many sweets and my pants were tighter. I think the more of it you can give away the better. I would go for the pudding cake I think..

I think they are real similar. But I'm not going to make it until I see a pound or two gone down. I have no will power!

Who won't lose his self control for it. I can smell from the pic how delicious it would be. If you are health conscious then you can make it small and should have someone with you to share it.

I made some pudding last weekend, reminded us both of this "dessert" that we used to enjoy as a family when our son was young. I always served it in stemware, and it taught him how to eat out of good crystal-invaluable lesson in my books.

@1creekgirl Well it taught him manners and kind of dressed up the plain old pudding.

Chocolate cobbler sounds delicious, I like everything with chocolate. You can divide all the quantities in half (or in 3) and make a small one.
