Day 37 Ezekiel 35 Ezekiel 35:1 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it, 3 And say unto it, Thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, O mount Seir, I am against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee most desolate. 4 I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD. 5 Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end: 6 Therefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: since thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee. 7 Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that passes out and him that returns. 8 And I will fill his mountains with his slain men: in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers, shall they fall that are slain with the sword. 9 I will make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not return: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. 10 Because thou hast said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas the LORD was there: 11 Therefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD, I will even do according to thine anger, and according to thine envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I have judged thee. 12 And thou shalt know that I am the LORD, and that I have heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to consume. 13 Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them. 14 Thus says the Lord GOD; When the whole earth rejoices, I will make thee desolate. 15 As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, even all of it: and they shall know that I am the LORD. Have you ever disliked someone so much you wanted to see trouble come their way? Or has someone disliked you so much that whenever trouble came your way they were happy for it? Seir was the mountain Esau went to when he swore an oath to kill Jacob when he took the blessing from him. Esau was the elder of them, and the birthright and blessing belonged to him. However, he sold his birthright to Jacob for a bowl of stew, and Jacob tricked him for the blessing. When Esau fled from his father’s home, he went to Mount Seir, and took the name Edom instead of Esau. His hatred of Jacob never fully diminished. God told Ezekiel he would destroy Seir because of Esau’s hatred of his people, Israel. As Christians, Satan hates you with the same hatred Esau had for Jacob. His full intention is to destroy you any way he can. He will go after everything you have, your job, your children, your finances. He won’t stop until he destroys every person who names the name of Jesus Christ. John 10:10 The thief comes not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (KJV) Jesus is the answer to Satan’s hatred. When you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, he promised to protect you from Satan, and provide everything you need. Jesus prayed for all those who named his name, for God, his Father to protect them from the evil to come. John 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. 12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gave me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. 13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. 14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15 I pray not that thou should take them out of the world, but that thou should keep them from the evil. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Your home is with Jesus in heaven when this life is over. However, before then, you must live here, and while here you will face many tribulations because of Satan’s hatred. Your battle is continuous, but you must remain strong in the Lord and in his strength. The only way to do that is to keep your armor on at all times. Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. As God came against Mount Seir because it stood against Israel, so too God came against Satan through the death, burial, and resurrection of his Son, Jesus. When Jesus defeated death, he gave us hope of salvation and freedom from Satan’s chains. We are no longer bound by sin and our old nature, because Christ lives in us. Satan will be utterly defeated when Jesus returns to crush Satan in the final battle of Armageddon. Until then, we have the hope of eternal life when we do all we can to stand against and resist every temptation Satan brings our way. You will not be destroyed, Satan will. Let’s pray: Father, you are holy, righteous, and just. You provided the way of salvation through your Son, Jesus. Help me stand in my armor every day, so Satan cannot harm me with his evil tactics, knowing he will be destroyed when Jesus returns. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. We should keep our armor of God on day and night, otherwise we will be more susceptible to the wiles of the devil.

Thats so true! I have noticed that on days that I got out of bed and rushed to things without a little time to pray.. that the rest of the day just seems awful. Like its just I make mistakes, forget things, am scatter brained and easily frustrated!

When people go against you, and they are Christians, it is very hurtful. In the beginning, it is a tough fight against evil. When you really and truly give it to God, He handles it.

That's when the only thing you can do is give it to God.

Amen! Been there and done that! I know I've become a hated person for believing that Jesus and the role he fulfilled, in being like him, was an issue. For me, I didn't mind, people are free to hate me. They can't harm me and really, their hatred is a reflection upon them, not me really. It took one real amazing book to help figure that out. Even if its not exactly Christian based, I think its a great book to help people read when dealing with harassment and hate from others. The Four Agreements !

I haven't heard of that book. I'm glad it helped you. It's hard being hated for your faith, but I've been there too.
