Wish my TV wasn’t smart

Maybe this is just the case with certain brands but I am not at all in favour of smart TV’s anymore. I wish I bought a regular LED tv that doesn’t crash, or lag. Or that doesn’t initiate long updates when you are in a mood for watching your favourite show. The picture is of my TV updating the software. Now I will just watch something on my tablet instead. How is your day/evening there?

The problem seems to be that you are using an Android television. Most would only update when manually selected, thus not interfering with your viewing.

The update message has been popping up for days and now it just started updating without me doing anything

We have several smart TVs and none of them ever did that. Try talking to your carrier or the company that makes your brand.

Smart anything get me irritated. The maintenance and updates are just irritating. I see my niece showing infinite patience with them. I have none.

What TV did you get? I received a roku TV for Christmas and it works wonderful as long as our Internet is working. Even then I'm still able to use the DVD player.
