Job hunting in small town horrors

I've been out of work for a while now (little over a year) but now have a child to take care of. And my husband had to quit his job last year in June after I went paralyzed for an hour. Since then we have been living off the state. He has applied to everything except what cost money to get a license to do the job (not a drivers license). Had one call, but we were 4 hours away at a Dr's appointment and it had to be that day even though we explained that we could come in once we got back. We both worked at Walmart prior to quitting and now they are letting everyone go so now the only job this town really has is gone. Even the fast food places aren't calling back. It's a small town so I figured okay maybe do something from home... the amount of scams out there. I don't like being looked at like we are lazy or whatever because we don't go to work everyday. We do side jobs together to make a little extra but it's not a job. I no longer know what to do, and our daughtersafe first birthday is in 2 months and we can't even afford a gift, it's Christmas all over again!

Do either of you have care giving skills or the patience to take care of the elderly? There are a lot of places even in small towns that need help with that. They like to keep the elderly in their own homes as long as possible and need good reliable people to do that who won't rob or take advantage of them.

Good luck to you. I hope you find something.
Check out , it is about pet sitting in your home.
We pay someone to check our house when we travel. Some people make a business out of that.

We are living in family own home, so have been scrapping by our teeth not having to pay for rent, which is why thinking of moving is so hard.

With the help of some contacts you can start a small business from home. There are many advantages of a work from job or business. It will help you to work according to your schedule and you wont work under any pressure. Although its a bit problematic in the begining but you will surely do well if you give it some time.
