Hey guys and gals, long time no see. What has everyone been up to?
I've been busy as usual with work and kids and stuff.
My son, the budding actor, got the lead role in the high school musical. They're doing Young Frankenstein and he is Dr. Frankenstein. He also won 1st place in the school's Shakespeare competition for the 2nd year in a row, and will go down to the city in March to compete against all the other area school winners. The winner of that goes on to a National Competition.
He also auditioned for a local professional company, and he got a call back! But he won't know if he got the part until sometime late March. He plans on doing a couple other local auditions as well, so he is definitely staying busy.
My daughter has also decided to be in Young Frankenstein so I'm super excited. She is a back up dancer, and my 11 year old son will be on the prop crew.
So things are buzzing around here and we're pretty busy with daily rehearsals, even on the weekends. I haven't had a moment to myself and am not really able to make any sort of plans for the next couple months due to their rehearsal schedule. That's okay though, I love seeing my kids succeed, and I especially love to see them do what they love doing!

Last year he won the school competition but did not place in the regional. It would be nice if he placed in the regional this year, but I do not expect 1st place.

He has watched the movie at least a dozen times since they announced that that's the show they're doing. He has also downloaded the broadway soundtrack and listens to that on repeat all the time!

That is great that they enjoy the acting so much. I was far to shy to do anything like that in high school. That sounds like great news for your budding young actor I hope he gets chosen. Even getting the call back is an honor I think!

It sure is! If he gets the part it will run for the whole month of August. There is another play he's going to audition for that will also run for August so if he doesn't get the first he may get the second. Then his teacher is going to sign him up for an acting class that will be in August also.. so either way he'll be busy this summer.

@much2say Ugh, I'll say. I keep counting down the days until each thing is done, but then something else starts. I miss having a day to just go out with my husband and not have a set time to be home before someone has to be picked up!

@katsmeow1213 Life totally takes over! We had a horrible start of the new year (I didn't write about it) so my mind wasn't completely around. It's gotten better, but still everything is "busy".

I hope that your kid gets the role that she desires, I'm sure she will have the performance of the life time. Hey, please share us the video of it too. Have a nice day/
